It took a good hour for him to get to the trail up. The going was slow because of the drifting snow. Finally making it, he studied the trail as best he could before heading up. It looked like he would have a hard time getting up, but also he felt like he had to if possible. It was probably too late, but for the children and her safety he had to try.
