Next morning Steve woke early and made another fire. The little room warmed quickly as he fixed breakfast.
Tonya had woke crying several times through the night so he let her sleep as he made coffee. The smell of it woke her up and she tried to smile when he handed her a cup.
The children had woken and were playing quietly. The pup was laying next to them and he noticed that the wolf was laying right outside the entrance. For some reason, she seemed to understand and was staying close by.
He really didn"t know what she understood or didn"t but he was glad she was there. She seemed to always be close by when things weren"t exactly right. Then you wouldn"t see anything of her for weeks on end.
After they had eaten he took a rag and wiped off both rifle and pistol before starting out.
