I blinked, suddenly unsure of what to say as I blushed hard. "I uhmm...I wasn't expecting to talk now. Maybe some other time? Besides, I am sure you are a very busy man and would not have the time to go over project times by this hour." Now why I had said that was beyond me.
But anything that would make me avoid this conversation was welcome.
The silence that followed my words, was deafening, making me begin to suspected that Alexander had hung up.
I looked at the screen of the phone to see that the call was still on, and contemplated whether I should hang up or not. That is, until Alexander cleared his throat in the background.
