The Rejected Alpha

Chapter 7

“What happened”, William asked as he opened his eyes and looked at the Beta and his wife. “They drugged us”, his wolf said in his mind, look, “we are tied up again.”

William realized that he was also totally naked and felt sick at what was about to happen to him. “This will be your last time ever that you touch me,” William snarled at the Beta and he could see Beta Charles take a step back.

“They are scared of us,” his wolf said, “command them to untie us”. William looked at Margaret and said, “If you really love your daughter Isabella, then you will untie me now, because if you do anything to me, she will never be safe. You will never be safe, does not matter where you go.”

Margaret looked at her husband, and as he nodded she untied William. Just before William left he heard Margaret speak. “Please don’t go home now, do not let your father see you until tomorrow, or else he will kill Isabella. If he knew we let you go we will not be safe.”

“Why should I even bother,” William said, “you have made my life hell, treated me as my father instructed and didn’t care, why should I care?”

“As a mother, I am pleading with you, save my daughter’s life at least, she did not do anything wrong.”

“We need to make them pay,” William heard his wolf talking to him.” They have done enough to us to not regret this”.

“I cannot hurt Isabella,” William said to his wolf, “I cannot hurt an innocent person.” William felt the rage burn deeper and harder inside him as he ran to the falls just outside town.

Exhausted he sat down under the falls, and the water running over his head seemed to calm him down, and his wolf also. “I need to get out” his wolf said, “I need to run for a while”.

“But it is still daytime,” William argued, “we cannot shift now!”

“If you don’t let me out now, I will force myself out, do you hear me” William’s wolf told him.

“But that is impossible” was all William could get out before collapsing.

William woke up and realized he was still in the water, totally soaked now he dragged himself to the grass, and just lay down a bit.” Something is different”, he thought, “I am different.”

“No, we are different” he heard his wolf, “we are not like other wolves, open your eyes and look.” As William opened his eyes he could see everything much clearer, much better than normal, he looked around realized he heard so much better, “something sure smelled great” he thought, “but I am out of town, how can I smell food?”

William tried to get up, and it was then that he realized he was in wolf form. “This cannot be,” he said to his wolf, “the sun is still shining, how is this possible?”

“There is but one explanation,” his wolf said, “we have been lied to all along, werewolves can change in daytime.”

“Have you ever heard of that happening to a werewolf”, asked William? “Is everyone hiding something from us, something they don’t want us to know? If every werewolf can shift in daytime, why not tell us that”, thought William.

“We need to find out what is going on”, his wolf said. “It could be to keep us safe, because to see a shift in daytime is easier than night-time”.

“That is a possibility,” said William, “but why is everyone acting different to me?”

“Because you are the true Alpha”, said his wolf. “The other people can feel that and it shows, and now they are all scared for what you will do to them, what we will do to them.”

“Let’s just run, and enjoy the fact that we are free for a while. Let me take over,” said William’s wolf, “and by the way, my name is Sebastian.”

Sebastian then took over, and ran the whole day, and William felt free for the first time since coming back. Felt like he could accomplish anything.

“We need to eat”, said William as he shifted back into human form.

 “Oh, hi William”, said Margaret as she opened the door. “What are you doing here?”

“I need food and a place to rest,” said William, “or do you want me to go home?”

“Not at all”, replied Margaret,” I will bring you some food and prepare a place for you to sleep.”

When William woke up the next morning, he smelled bacon being prepared, and immediately felt hungry. As he walked downstairs, Isabella was preparing food and got a fright as he walked in.

“What are you doing here,” she asked William.

“Just helping your father out with some minor repair work”, William lied to her. Just then Beta Charles walked in,” Isabella”, he said, “you know you are not allowed to talk to William. Don’t let anyone know you saw him or even spoke to him. Is that Clear?”

“Yes father”, Isabella replied as she walked out the kitchen.

William had his breakfast, and the whole time his wolf kept on urging him to speak to the Beta or Margaret about shifting in daytime. “We need to know more” said Sebastian.

“Not them,” William said, “we need to find out first before they run to my father and tell him we are curious about daytime shifts.”

The next morning William went to school, and was quite surprised when a beautiful redhead with blue eyes walked up to him, he could only stare at her flowing locks and he did not notice the tiny freckles on her nose. What a beautiful young woman he thought.

“Hi, I am Kelly” she said, “I have heard that you are William.”

“Yes I am,” William replied, “but why are you talking to me?”

“Oh, don’t worry,” Kelly said, “I have been known to go against the norm. I heard all the other kids say that everyone should stay away from you, and Kelly being Kelly, well, here I am, going against the norm” she smiled.

“Are you sure”, William asked, “people around here don’t like people associating themselves with me.”

“Not at all,” said Kelly, “but I have to go to class now, see you after school. Maybe we could hang out somewhere?”

“Sure, I would like that” said William before he could stop himself.

“You are such an i***t” said Sebastian, “that girl is setting you up, setting us up! Did you look at her? What would she want to do with us? We are nothing in the eyes of everyone, why would she suddenly be interested in us? She is a human, we cannot put her in danger.”
