William was born in the summer of 1968, and as always, it was a glorious sunny day that you will find most days in South Africa. William was born to his Parents, Alpha Gabriel Von Tromp and his Luna, Delilah.
When William turned 3, he one day overheard his parents saying that they would like to have another son, as they feel that William is a total disappointment to them, his father is this big 6 ft tall, muscular build with dark hair and deep brown eyes Alpha male. William’s mother has this dark flowing hair that reaches her petit waist, and at 5ft she looked dwarfed by her husband. There was no hint of their ancestry in their looks, both of them being born in Germany in a small town called Wiesbaden. They would travel to the Black Forest every weekend where they could shift and run freely. They did this however without the consent of their Alpha, or the consent of the Alpha of the Black Forest, and when they were caught, they were excommunicated from their packs and decided to start a new life far away from everyone. A new life in a country where werewolves were an unknown, only heard of and thought to be merely fiction.
They chose South Africa with its wide open spaces, beautiful countryside, mountains and wonderful weather. They decided to settle in a small town where they would not attract too much attention, but with Luna Delilah’s looks, they were very quickly well known in the town of Howick. They built a big cottage in the forest near Howick Falls, and this was one of their favourite spots to run to when they have shifted. Being the only werewolves in the country, William’s father decided to bring his best friend to South Africa, and in turn he would become Beta of the South African pack. Without a moment’s hesitation, Charles Richards decided to join them, bringing with him his wife Margaret and their daughter Isabella.
Isabella was 2 years Williams junior and a very playful young girl. She was also very curious of her new surroundings, but Alpha Gabriel never allowed William to spend time with her, or to go play. William was always rejected from anyone that would come over to visit, never allowed to play with the other children.
Winter of 1975 William’s parents welcomed a new son into the world and named him Simon. Finally William thought, I will have someone to play with, someone to become my friend, however the resentment from his parents just grew bigger when Simon turned out to be the spitting image of his Father, unlike William’s blond hair, blue eyes that had the tendency to change colour to green whenever he got angry. William’s parents then decided to move him to a boarding school where he would spend the next 12 years of his life, as the school accommodated all children from Grade 1 through to Grade 12 when you would finish school.
It was here in Mt. Drakensberg School where William would find his first friend, where he would learn what it feels like to be accepted by other people. When William entered Grade 1, his parents welcomed their third child into the world, William’s sister Gabriella was born. This caused his parents to start leaving William behind in the boarding school where he would spend his school vacations as the only child not going home.
Today is William’s 10th Birthday, spending it at school with his friends and teacher. They had cake sweets and lots of activity outdoors, everyone enjoyed running around and playing, free from school work for the day. As the only wolf in school, William didn’t mind that the other boys were slower than him, he would run to their pace, he just wanted to fit in.
It was then that William met the new girl that came to school, pretty young blonde with blue eyes, it was like she was his double, just in female form. Samantha and her family moved to South Africa from Sweden, and somehow they ended up here. She did not stay in the boarding school dorms, as they lived 5 minutes’ walk away from school. At first it seemed like she did not even notice William, however in Natural Sciences class with Mrs. Appleby, Samantha was paired with William as study mates.
Over the course of the next few weeks Samantha and William became friends, and actually quite close. Her parents were very nice towards him when they heard that he stayed alone in the dorms on weekends and school holidays, and they would invite him over to stay with them on weekends. School holidays they would travel back to Sweden to visit their family.
William started to feel like; this could be his new life, away from his parents, away from being the rejected child. However he was totally wrong in his thinking. Alpha Gabriel heard of his new friendship, and started taking William home on weekends.
