Zephyrine walked into Mrs. Hargraves's office, she saw Petal already sitting there with a big grin on her face. Mrs. Hargraves sat behind her desk and motioned for Zephyrine to take a seat. Petal leaned over and whispered, "Welcome to the naughty corner, Zephyrine." Zephyrine rolled her eyes. "Thanks, Petal. It's great to be here." Mrs. Hargraves cleared her throat, "Now, let's get down to business. Zephyrine, I received a very interesting call from a woman claiming to be Petal's mother." Petal's eyes widened. "Oh, no! Not Mum!" Zephyrine tried to hide a smile, "Yes, Mrs. Hargraves. I may have used a voice-changing spell to impersonate Petal's mother." Mrs. Hargraves raised an eyebrow, "And may I ask why you did that?" Zephyrine hesitated for a moment. "Well, I was just trying to help Petal. She was really upset about the whole detention thing and I thought I can help get her out of it." Petal put on her best innocent face. "I didn't ask her to do it, Mrs. Hargraves. It was all her idea!" Zephyrine shot her a look. "Oh, sure. Blame it all on me." Mrs. Hargraves sighed, "Well, regardless of whose idea it was, you both know, using magic to deceive someone is a serious offense. I'm going to have to give you both a week's worth of detention." Petal groaned, "A week?! That's not fair!" Zephyrine shrugged, "We did break the rules, Petal." Mrs. Hargraves handed them each a piece of paper. "You'll both need to fill out these forms and have them signed by your parents before you can serve your detention. And I suggest you both think twice before using magic to deceive someone again." Zephyrine and Petal nodded, knowing they had been caught red-handed. They stood up and walked out of the office to their morning class. Zephyrine and Petal flew into the classroom, and Blossom waved at them. "Hey, what's up?" she asked. "Not much, just got out of Mrs. Hargraves' office," Zephyrine replied with a sigh. Blossom raised an eyebrow. "Uh oh, what did you do now?" "It wasn't me, it was Petal," Zephyrine said, pointing at her friend. Petal rolled her eyes. "Oh please, like you weren't in on it too." Blossom giggled. "What did you guys do?" Zephyrine explained what had happened with the voice-changing spell and Mrs. Hargraves figuring it out. Petal added in some witty comments and jokes, causing Blossom to burst out laughing. "I can't believe you guys did that," Blossom said, wiping tears from her eyes. "You're lucky you didn't get expelled." Zephyrine and Petal exchanged a nervous glance before laughing it off. "Yeah, we know," Zephyrine said. "We won't do it again." Blossom shook her head. "You guys are too much sometimes." Mrs. Hargraves walked in and the classroom fell silent. She gave a stern look at the students before speaking. "Good morning, class. As you all know, today we have a quiz on transfiguration. I hope you have all studied hard," Mrs. Hargraves said, eyeing each student. Petal leaned over to Zephyrine and whispered, "I hope I can transfigure this quiz into a bouquet of flowers." Zephyrine stifled a giggle and whispered back, "Good luck with that, Petal." Mrs. Hargraves continued, "You have 45 minutes to complete the quiz. Begin now." Petal whispered to Blossom, "I wish we could transfigure Mrs. Hargraves into a more fun teacher." Blossom chuckled softly, trying to avoid getting caught by Mrs. Hargraves's watchful eyes. As the students wrote their quiz test, Mrs. Hargraves paced around the room, her eyes fixed on each student. Petal couldn't help but feel a little nervous under her intense gaze. Petal whispered to Zephyrine and Blossom, "Do you think she has a secret power that allows her to see through our papers?" Zephyrine giggled, "Petal, you're being silly. Mrs. Hargraves is just making sure we're not cheating." Blossom chimed in, "Yeah, and I heard she can even detect the slightest hint of magic use during the test. So no using your wands, girls." Petal rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, I won't be cheating with my wand. It's not like I need it to ace this quiz." Mrs. Hargraves suddenly stopped in front of Petal's desk, causing her to jump a little. "Ms. Greenbriar, I suggest you focus on your test instead of making jokes." Petal gulped, "Yes, ma'am. Sorry, ma'am." Mrs. Hargraves moved on, and Petal let out a sigh of relief. "I knew I shouldn't have eaten that extra bag of crispy cream caterpillars for breakfast." Mrs. Hargraves stood up from her desk and walked around the room again, her wand in hand. "Time's up," she said, flicking her wand. Each of the papers on the students' desks rose and floated over to hers. Petal looked at Zephyrine with a smirk. "Looks like someone's been practicing their levitation spell," she whispered. Zephyrine rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smile. As Mrs. Hargraves put the papers in her bag, the microphone came on; "Good morning, future fairy godmothers and others creatures," said the headmistress. " I am glad to announce the rule of fairy godmother has changed. At the end of the semester, students must score the maximum grade to be officially given their godchild," As soon as the headmistress finished her announcement, Petal's eyes widened in shock. "What?! So we have to score a perfect grade now to get our godchild? That's like trying to catch a unicorn with a net made of spaghetti!" she exclaimed. Zephyrine and Blossom exchanged worried glances, but Petal continued, "I mean, I can barely catch a cold, let alone a perfect grade. This is going to be harder than trying to find a needle in a haystack wearing a blindfold and gloves made of jelly!" Mrs. Hargraves cleared her throat and said sternly, "It is not impossible Petal. With hard work and dedication, you all can achieve the maximum grade. Now, let's get back to our lesson." Petal pouted but nodded, muttering under her breath, "Hard work and dedication, huh? Sounds like a job for someone else." Blossom noticed Zephyrine's distracted state and leaned over to her, whispering, "Hey, Zeph, don't worry too much about it. We've got this in the bag! We're the best fairies in this school, and there's no way we won't score top marks." Zephyrine looked at Blossom, grateful for her words, and managed a small smile. "You're right, Blossom. We can do this." Petal chimed in, "Of course we can! We're going to ace this semester and show everyone what we're made of." Zephyrine nodded, feeling more confident already. Mrs. Hargraves cleared her throat and brought out a big book from her bag. "Now, let's continue with our lesson," she said, opening the book. "Today, we will be studying the properties of magical herbs and their uses in potion-making." Petal leaned over to Zephyrine and whispered, "I hope she's not going to test us on this too. My brain can only handle so much information." The school bell finally rang. Zephyrine, Petal, and Blossom flew down the hall and into the auditorium. Petal was doing her best to lighten the mood. "Hey Zephyrine, did you hear the one about the wizard who couldn't stop losing his wand?" Zephyrine shook her head. "He just couldn't get a handle on things!" Petal burst out laughing at her joke, while Blossom gave a small smile. As they entered the auditorium, they saw the class had already started. The professor, a tall and imposing figure, was lecturing on the history of magic. Petal leaned over to Zephyrine and whispered, "I hope he doesn't ask questions. My brain is still recovering from that quiz test!" The professor shuns them to take a seat. As they sat down, the professor continued his lecture. Suddenly, Petal's wand accidentally flew out of her hand and hit the professor on the head. The professor turned to Petal and sternly said, "Ms. Petal, do you have something to share with the class?" Petal, quick on her feet, replied with a grin, "Just my wand, professor. I figured you needed a little magic in your life." The class erupted in laughter, and the professor couldn't help but c***k a smile. "Well played, Ms. Petal. But let's try to keep the magic focused on our studies, shall we?" Zephyrine couldn't help but laugh at Petal's witty comment, grateful for her friend's ability to lighten the mood in any situation. As the professor continued teaching, Tilly suddenly threw three paper balls at them. "Hey, what was that for?" Zephyrine exclaimed. "It's Petal's fault the rules were changed!" Tilly yelled, pointing accusingly at Petal. "What? How is it my fault?" Petal retorted. "You're always causing trouble, Petal!" Tilly replied. Petal rolled her eyes. "Yeah, because changing school rules is totally something I can do," she said sarcastically. The professor gave them a stern look. "Ladies, please focus on the lesson and refrain from disrupting the class," he said. Zephyrine and Petal exchanged a knowing look and tried to pay attention to the professor's lecture, while Tilly glared at them from across the room. The professor turned to the class and asked a question, "What is the incantation to summon a patronus?" Tilly, who was always quick with her wand, immediately raised her hand and answered confidently, "Expecto Patronum!" Blossom, who was known for her exceptional knowledge in Defense Against the Dark Arts, was clearly annoyed that Tilly had beaten her to it. Petal, being the funny and witty one, quipped in a whisper to Zephyrine, "Looks like Tilly's trying to outshine our dear Blossom. She must have eaten too much pumpkin juice this morning." Zephyrine couldn't help but giggle quietly at Petal's comment. As the professor asked another question, Tilly raised her hand and answered confidently, "The answer is 42, Professor." Blossom glared at Tilly and muttered, "Of course, she knows the answer. She's probably been studying non-stop since the start of the semester just to impress the professors." Petal leaned over and whispered to Blossom, "Don't worry, Blossom. We'll show her we're just as capable, if not more." Blossom nodded, feeling a bit better. Meanwhile, Tilly smirked at them, thinking she had won another round. The professor then turned to the rest of the class and asked a more difficult question, hoping to challenge them. As Tilly finished her incorrect answer, Blossom leaned forward and raised her hand, catching the professor's attention. "Yes, Blossom?" he said, nodding at her. "I think the correct answer is actually," she paused dramatically, "the theory of magical relativity, Professor." The professor looked impressed and nodded. "Correct, Blossom. Ten points to Hufflepuff." Tilly huffed and crossed her arms, while Petal whispered to Zephyrine, "Looks like Blossom just put Tilly in her place!" Zephyrine stifled a laugh and shook her head. It seemed like the tension in the classroom was finally starting to ease. Tilly began to argue about the answer. The professor checked his notes and confirmed that Blossom's answer was indeed correct. Petal couldn't resist making a quip and said, "Looks like someone needs to check their eyeglasses prescription, Tilly. Or maybe it's just that your brain can't keep up with your mouth!" Tilly scowled at Petal, but Blossom just smiled and said, "Thanks for having my back, Petal." The professor cleared his throat and resumed his lecture. "Now, as I was saying, the fundamental principle of this theory is..." Petal leaned over to Zephyrine and whispered, "Do you think Tilly's brain is stuck on the 'argue even when you're wrong' mode?" Zephyrine stifled a giggle and replied, "I don't know, but it's not doing her any favors." Blossom rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath, "Some people just can't accept when they're wrong." The professor continued his lecture, occasionally asking questions and prompting the students to participate. Despite Tilly's interruptions, the class managed to stay focused and attentive, taking notes and absorbing the information being presented. As they were about to enter their next class, Tilly barged in rudely, knocking into Zephyrine and not even bothering to apologize. Petal couldn't resist making a quip, "Wow Tilly, manners are so last season, huh?" Blossom gave Petal a disapproving look, but couldn't help but stifle a laugh. Zephyrine rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath, "Some people just never learn." Tilly shot back. "I will come out on top this semester and will dethrone Blossom," Petal couldn't resist making a snarky comment, "Oh Tilly, I didn't realize you were trying to be the queen of the school. I thought you were going for the role of class clown." Blossom couldn't help but stifle a laugh at Petal's remark, but Tilly just rolled her eyes and brushed past them. "You two can laugh all you want, but I'll be the one on top this semester," Tilly retorted before disappearing into the classroom. Zephyrine looked at her friends with concern. "Do you think Tilly is really going to dethrone Blossom?" Blossom shrugged. "I don't know, but I do know that I won't be letting her win without a fight." As they settled into their seats, a teacher wearing bright and colorful clothes walked in, looking like she just stepped out of a music festival. "Hey y'all!" the teacher exclaimed with a big smile. "I'm Ms. Rainbow and I'll be your music teacher this semester. I hope you're all ready to make some beautiful music together!" Petal couldn't help but giggle at Ms. Rainbow's outfit and enthusiastic personality. "She looks like a walking rainbow," Petal whispered to Blossom. Blossom rolled her eyes. "Just try to focus, Petal. Music class is still important." But Petal couldn't help but feel excited about what was to come in Ms. Rainbow's class. With a teacher as colorful and passionate as her, it was bound to be a fun semester. Ms. Rainbow asked them to bring out their wands and turn them into an instrument. Petal jokingly said, "Finally, I can show off my skills in playing the air guitar!" and winked at her friends. The other students laughed, and Ms. Rainbow smiled, saying, "Well, Petal, let's see if you can really rock out with that wand!" The class then proceeded to turn their wands into various instruments. Zephyrine waved her wand with all her might, but nothing seemed to happen. She looked around, embarrassed, and noticed that everyone else had successfully transformed their wands into instruments. Petal, who was sitting next to her, couldn't resist making a joke. "Looks like someone forgot to water their wand this morning," she teased, winking at Zephyrine. Zephyrine rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but laugh. "Thanks for the reminder, Petal," she replied, shaking her head in amusement. Zephyrine let out a sigh of relief as her wand finally transformed into a beautiful wooden flute. She looked around to see if anyone was watching and then brought it to her lips. As she blew into it, the sweet sound of music filled the room. Blossom couldn't help but chuckle as she watched Zephyrine's happy expression. "Looks like you finally figured it out," she said with a grin. Zephyrine nodded, still playing the flute. "It just needed a little encouragement, that's all," she said, giggling. Ms. Rainbow walked around the room, listening to the different sounds the students' instruments were making. "Very good, very good," she said, nodding her head in approval. "Now let's try to play a tune of the fairytale song together, shall we?" As they all played the fairytale song together, Petal couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and magic in the air. She closed her eyes and let the melody carry her away to a far-off land. The song went like this: Verse 1: Once upon a time in a land far away There lived a princess who loved to play She dreamed of adventure and magic galore And longed to see what lay beyond her castle door Chorus: Fairytale, fairytale, take me away To a place where the sun always shines Fairytale, fairytale, don't let me stray From the magic that's flowing like wine Verse 2: One day, the princess heard a strange sound It echoed and bounced all around She followed it deep into the woods And found herself in a clearing, feeling quite good Chorus: Fairytale, fairytale, take me away To a place where the sun always shines Fairytale, fairytale, don't let me stray From the magic that's flowing like wine Bridge: There she met a handsome prince Whose eyes were bright as the sky He took her hand and said, "Let's dance" And they twirled under the moonlight Chorus: Fairytale, fairytale, take me away To a place where the sun always shines Fairytale, fairytale, don't let me stray From the magic that's flowing like wine As they finished the song, Petal opened her eyes and smiled. She knew she and her friends had created something truly magical together. As the school bell rang for dismissal, Ms. Rainbow turned to the class and exclaimed, "That was simply magical! I haven't heard such a harmonious ensemble in years!" Blossom and Zephyrine exchanged high-fives while Tilly grumbled to herself. Petal, who had been tapping her foot the whole time, chimed in with a joke, "Well, we're just trying to make sure the frogs and toads around here don't feel left out of the music scene!" Ms. Rainbow chuckled and said, "Well, I think they'll appreciate the effort." She then dismissed the class with a wave of her hand and the students packed up their belongings, eagerly chatting about their next magical music lesson. Zephyrine walked into the living room and saw her mother lounging on the couch, engrossed in the television. "Hi, Mom," she greeted her. Her mother looked up and smiled. "Hey, sweetie! How was school?" "It was good. We had music class today, and I finally got my wand to turn into an instrument," Zephyrine said excitedly. "That's great, honey! What kind of instrument did it turn into?" "A flute! And we played a fairytale song together. It was so much fun," Zephyrine replied, still beaming with excitement. Her mother chuckled. "You always did love music. It's nice to see you so happy." Zephyrine nodded, feeling grateful for her mother's support. "Thanks, Mom. It was a great day." She took a deep breath. "Can you sign this form for me? Her mother looks at the form. "Zephyrine, detention? What did you do this time? Zephyrine sat down next to her. "It's not what you think. I was trying to help a friend.'' Her mum raised an eyebrow. "A friend? By impersonating someone else's mother? That's not the kind of behavior I expect from you." Zephyrine sighs. "I know, but Petal was really upset about getting detention, and I thought I could help her out. Her mum shook her head. "Zephyrine, you need to learn that there are consequences for your actions. I can't just sign this and let you off the hook. Zephyrine sighs again. "I understand, Mom. I'm sorry. I won't do it again. Her mother sighs. "Alright, I'll sign it, but you're still grounded for a week and have to clean the entire house.'' Zephyrine hugged her. "Thank you, Mom. I will. Zephyrine flew upstairs to her room and as she lay down on the bed, a paper flew in. It was a message from Petal asking what punishment did her mum give her. Zephyrine grabbed the paper and wrote back to Petal, "My punishment? Well, my dear friend, let's just say my mum was not impressed with my little scheme to get you out of detention. I'm grounded for a week and have to clean the entire house." She chuckled to herself, imagining the look on Petal's face. "But hey, it was worth it to see you smile again." Zephyrine folded the paper and watched it flew out. Few minutes it came back As she unfolded the paper, she saw Petal's response: "I feel terrible for you, my friend. Better start thinking of some creative ways to entertain yourself." Zephyrine couldn't help but chuckle at Petal's response. "Thanks for the sympathy, Petal. Maybe I'll finally have time to perfect my flute playing skills," she wrote back, before sending the paper flying back out the window.
