"Just that she was found by a lake. She was injured, with no memory of … of where she came from." Her eyes widened. "She was a fallen?"
He nodded, agreeing that assessment sounded the most likely.
"What does that make me?"
Eric was startled by the question. What did that make her? His heart began to race. "It depends on what kind of Calaspian she was. You may have inherited some of those traits." Traits that could explain her current condition. "What else do you know?"
"People had said she was attacked by a sea monster. There were stories of sightings at that lake. When she appeared out of nowhere, everyone assumed the two things were connected. To this day, no one in my family likes large bodies of water. We won't even swim in pools. And I’ve tried. Lots of people suggested it to help
