The DiscoveryLyla gasped, and Conner put his hand on her wrist and his finger up to his lips. They slid down of the sack and pulled back farther into the shadows, but they could still see what the intruders were doing.
One of them shone a flashlight around the pond enclosure presumably looking for any sign of witnesses. Finding no one, they dragged two burlap sacks through the opening in the fence and left them near the edge of the pond. The one with the light shone it at the bird balls in the corner of the preg pond and his partner used a hooked pole to pull one of the balls over to the side and up on to the liner. It was attached to a thin line that was tied to a thicker rope which the two pulled until a sack emerged from the pond. Then they repeated the process retrieving another sack.
