Palais des JusticeConner and Lyla arrived at the Palais des Justice courthouse at a quarter-to-nine to find Leon waiting near the main entrance. Once they passed through security and the metal detector, they were issued visitor's passes and directed to the proper courtroom. The three sat together behind the Prosecutor's table. Kanga came and conferred with them. He said he planned to call Lyla to the stand first and see how things went. If necessary, he would call Conner later.
“I'm nervous,” said Lyla. “I've never been in a courtroom before, let alone on the witness stand.”
