I was able to track down Conner and Lyla, who were key, along with Jenny, in filling in the details of this story. They married and stayed on at the mine for five years. Lyla continued Jenny's work with new mothers at the Nouvel Espoir post-natal clinic. After their first daughter was born, they moved to Argentina where their second daughter was born. The couple now spends half their time in Canada and the other half sailing in the Caribbean on their forty-foot yacht.
