Blake tossed the football to Sammy, who caught it deftly, then lofted the ball high in the air back to Blake, making him run to catch it. Clive stood on the deck keeping Frank company as they flipped burgers on the backyard grill. Clive leaned over the railing. “Come and get it!” he hollered. Sammy whooped and ran in. Blake was close behind. He’d worked up a big appetite and was ready for the meal. They took the wooden steps two at a time up to the deck. “I think they’re hungry,” Clive said with an eye roll. “Ya think?” Frank grinned and turned to Sammy and Blake. “It’s on the table, boys.” Potato salad and a fruit salad were offered along with the platter full of burgers. “It looks delicious, Frank,” Blake said. “Thank you again for inviting me.” “You’re welcome.
