The white lights on the carousel illuminated the delicate porcelain faces of all the ceramic horses. “What are we doing?” I asked, climbing into the only sleigh on the merry-go-round, Devon close by. I watched Devon scramble to hook his foot in the tightfitting space. “Enjoying the evening,” he said, shifting and sliding until he finally found his footing. He leaned into me, wrapping an arm over my shoulder. “One other thing you don’t know about me,” he said. “You’re clumsy,” I answered. “Besides that, I’m quite agile.” “You could’ve fooled me,” I said, grinning, my hand landing unexpectedly across his chest.
