Chapter 3- Elyndor Heir

It's been a week since I got here in the Academy. All I can say is yes, they really are supernaturals. Paano ko napatunayan sa sarili ko? It was during PE I almost fainted when I saw how Lily chanted a spell and created a flower, Dos is playing basketball while teleporting, and Archer, he's too strong! Not to mention Liam is running too fast in the gymnasium. I was overwhelmed but I got over it. Looks like my final year won't be boring, right? "Let's go." Lily interrupted my thoughts. It's friday today so it's our free day, we decided to eat in the Cafeteria. As we walked into the bustling cafeteria with Lily, scanning the food options while catching up on gossip. As I waited in line, subtle glances turned into outright stares – guys and girls alike couldn't help but look at me. I know that kind of stare, they are curious about how weird my hair color is. Lily teased quietly. "Raya, you're causing a scene again. Everyone's mesmerized!" Just then, the cafeteria fell silent – except for whispers and murmurs – as I reached the front of the line. I bet they're thinking I'm a freak too. But wait, they're the ones whose freakier than me! Even the cafeteria staff stared, momentarily forgetting my food order. Okay this is getting weirder. I saw Dos and Archer, already seated at a table, noticed the commotion – and their expressions changed. Dos's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze fixed intensely on the guys staring at me. Archer's jaw clenched, his eyes flashing with a hint of jealousy as he pushed his chair back, ready to stand. Ciandy, sitting with them, raised an eyebrow at Dos and Archer's reactions before turning to me with a sly smile. "Seems you have admirers – and protectors. Shall we join them, or enjoy the admiration from afar?" Ngumuso ako. Ilang araw na akong inaasar ni Ciandy na may gusto sa akin ang dalawa pero tingin ko protective lang sila siguro dahil baguhan ako. It's kind of nice to be protected though. Ciandy leaned in, her emerald eyes are sparkling with curiosity – "Raya, may I ask you some things? My mind's full of questions about you suddenly." I nodded cautiously. "What kind of questions, Ciandy? You're making me curious... and slightly wary." Ciandy smiled mischievously. "All kinds. Start with something simple: what was childhood like for you – siblings, big family gatherings?" I paused, a hint of nostalgia in my voice. "Actually, I'm an only child. My adopted parents couldn't have biological kids, so I was their miracle." Ciandy's eyes softened with understanding. "That must have made you extra loved. Did they ever talk about your biological family or your adoption story?" My expression turns thoughtful – "Not much. Just that my biological parents gave me up for adoption when I was a baby... that's all I know." Ciandy nodded curiously. "Intriguing. Your story is quite mysterious, Raya. Do you ever wonder about your biological roots?" I shrugged softly. "Sometimes, but my adopted family loves me – that's what matters most." Ciandy smiles warmly. "That's beautiful, Raya. Love received is what truly defines family, not biology." Dos, who had been quietly observing our conversation, nodded in agreement. "Ciandy's right. Family is choice and love – my own family situation is... complicated proof of that." Archer leans in, curioused. "Complicated how, Dos? You rarely talk about your family." Dos glanced at Ciandy before responding cautiously. "Let's just say my mother's family – Ciandy's family too – has certain... expectations and secrets." Ciandy shoots Dos a warning look, but I'm intriguedm I teased playfully. "Ooh, mysterious vampire family drama – spill the tea, Ciandy and Dos!" Ciandy laughed softly, shaking her head. "Raya, you're adorable. But this 'tea' is bitter and centuries old – hardly gossip worthy... to outsiders." Dos chuckled low in his throat. "Ciandy means it's complicated enough for family members to grasp barely – no need to confuse friends." Archer leans back, eyes sparkling with amusement. "Yet, you both just piqued Raya's – and my – curiosity exponentially. Well done." Ciandy smiles mischievously. "Perhaps just a tiny sip of this 'tea' then... Raya, want to walk with me after lunch? I'll share a hint." I playfully cautioned. "Ciandy, what kind of hint – not going to bite me with vampire secrets, right?" Ciandy laughed softly. "No biting promises, Raya. But seriously, walk with me after lunch?" I nodded, then curiosity gets the better of me. "Actually, Ciandy, one question first – you mentioned centuries-old drama... how are you in high school if your family's so ancient?" Dos chuckled. "Good question, Raya. Ciandy's family has a... let's call it a 'rejuvenation' secret." Ciandy rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "He means our kind can slow aging almost to halt – then restart youthful appearance at will." Archer adds intrigued. "So they can blend in with any era – explain why Ciandy here looks 17 not 700-ish?" Ciandy smiled mischievously. "Exactly, Archer. Now, Raya – lunch is ending, walk with me?" Tumango kaming lahat at lumabas sa cafeteria. "Blending in makes sense – but why choose high school, Ciandy, of all places to blend in?" Lily asked. Kanina pa siya tahimik tutok sa laptop niya. She really made my real parents like her little discovery. Ciandy smiles thoughtfully. "Observation purposes, mostly. High school reveals raw personalities, uninfluenced adult masks – helpful for my family's... research." Dos added quietly. "And possibly monitoring certain bloodlines or families – ones that might intersect with ours somehow." My eyes narrow slightly – "Monitoring bloodlines? Ciandy, is my family one being researched or observed?" I boldly asked. Ciandy's expression turned neutral, but her voice hinted at careful wording. "Not exactly your adoptive family, Raya... let's just say your existence sparked interest recently." "Interesting timing – did something happen recently to make my existence worth your family's attention?" I calmly asked her. Ciandy glanced at Dos before responding slowly. "Yes. A ancient record was uncovered... mentioning a rare bloodline thought extinct – with your birth surname on it, Raya." My heart skipped a beat as Dos added. "This bloodline's significance is huge in our world. Ciandy's family thinks your birth parents might be... more than just ordinary people." Ciandy's eyes locked onto mine intensely. "We suspect they might have been like me, Raya – supernatural. And possibly still alive." The courtyard around us melts away as my mind reeled. I asked slowly. "Supernatural like you – vampire? Or something else entirely?" Ciandy's expression turns grave. "Not exactly like me, Raya. The record hints your bloodline is... older, more powerful – 'Elyndor' kind." Dos leaned in, voice low and mysterious. "Elyndors were legendary creators of vampire lines – including Ciandy's family – yet surpassing our strength and magic." Ciandy added, eyes fixed intensely on mine. "Some believe Elyndors wielded control over life force itself... making them nearly gods in our supernatural world, Raya." My mind reels as implications sinked in. "Nearly gods... and you think my birth parents were Elyndors? Meaning I could be..." Ciandy's gentle nodded finishing my thought. "Yes, Raya. Possibly an Elyndor heir." --------- Published: March 20, 2025
