I got a call from Jane a few weeks later.
“Well, sweetie, you’ve done it again. Jordan has just been nominated for a Clio award for the music of the campaign.
“That’s fantastic! When will the winners be announced?”
“Next month on the twenty-seventh. You have to block that date.”
“Me? Why me?”
“All of the music that’s been nominated will be performed at that ceremony, so you and Jay will have to be there. It will be in Los Angeles.”
“L.A.?”
“Should I call Wilson?” she asked.
“No, I’ll call him.”
“Will you want four tickets? Chellen will probably book a table or two. I’ll make the arrangements.”

So, on the twenty-fifth, Car and I flew to California. A car and driver that Ryan had hired met us at the Santa Monica Airport and drove us to their house near Malibu.
