Wednesday morning, I sat with the make-up artist and hair stylists for more than two hours. When they were done, I hardly recognized myself. Then the wardrobe people took over. “I’m Mimi,” the head costume person told me. “This will be a little hard. I didn’t realize you were so slim. We’ll have to pin the back to make it look like it fits.” She gestured to a tuxedo that was hanging on the rack. “But it’ll look great on you.
