Chapter 9 We had to rush to get dressed and straighten our hair when we heard Oscar announce dinner was ready. We hurried upstairs and seated ourselves at the table. Oscar placed plates in front of us. “Is this blue fish?” Car asked. “I love blue fish.” On the plate was rice pilaf and glazed carrots mixed with pieces of cauliflower. There was also a green salad and a small loaf of hot bread. There was also a ramekin of almond butter. “Yup. Blue fish. Had it flown in from Boston just for you.” “What other surprises do you have?” Car asked as we dug in. “I keep tellin’ ya, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you knew, would it?” Oscar was opening a bottle of Chablis for us.
