Chapter 21In an instant, everything changed for Charlie Baker. Something was very wrong. He became aware that he was falling, and almost immediately he was being pulled under water. Dragged down by a two hundred and fifty-pound equipment cart. He was sinking quickly, and his mind was racing to figure out what happened.
As he got deeper his hands grasped for the seatbelt that held him in place. He had almost chosen not to fasten it, but last minute had changed his mind. He had heard that it was not necessary, but he had been a little nervous.
Charlie felt his ears pop, and there was water entering his nose. He then felt the cart rolling backward, moving him to the highest point on the sinking mass. Then he hit the bottom and rolled over again. He was now upside down.
