Chapter 24One moment they were in the lab, and the next they found themselves standing on a patch of hard Earth. They had appeared on a flat of ground between several houses. They remained crouched, not moving for about twenty seconds. When they were sure they had arrived un-noticed, they slowly stood and started walking. There was a stable off to their left, and they silently disappeared behind it.
They could hear and smell the animals living inside. There was also the noticeable smell of wood smoke.
“There is a hill off behind that building,” Catherine said pointing, “If one of us gets up there we will be able to see this whole side of the village.”
