In preparation for her visit to the Cardiff Inn to meet with Ashley, Cory formulated a tentative treatment plan. Ashley had experienced a trauma horrendous enough to cause amnesia. Calling it to the surface too soon would be wrong. The immediate goal was to comfort and support her and then to help her remember her early life, her schooling, and her relationships, where she had lived—things that normal people recall with ease.
Ashley had mentioned that the Cardiff Inn seemed familiar to her. Perhaps she’d been there before. Likely, the innkeepers maintained a record of guests. Had the furnishings stirred memories of another place similar to it?
Since Ashley had likely witnessed a crime, it probably occurred where she had awakened.
