“For real? You’re a karate expert?” he asked.
“Correct,” Cory said.
Bruce smiled, revealing perfect teeth. “Impressive. Admirable.”
“Well, Bruce, I think we both got something out of this meeting. Let’s keep in touch.” Cory stood, ready for a handshake.
Instead Bruce hugged her. “I’m glad we met. You’ve been most instructive. Anytime you’re in my neighborhood, let me know and we’ll have lunch.”
“Thank you, Bruce.” She doubted he’d have the time for meeting a colleague aware of his poor business habits, but he did seem genuinely grateful for her help.
