– 13 – By the time Tuesday rolled around, Cory had decided to push Ben out of her mind. She realized the futility in trying to figure out the cause of his evasion or disinterest. Larry arrived early and was waiting in the reception room. An ideal patient, he participated fully in sessions, and worked hard on his problems. Cory was always eager to see him, but this time was special. He’d have news about his Ashley. He stepped into the consulting room, sighed, and sank into the chair. “I don’t know what to make of it,” he said, shaking his head from side to side. I haven’t been able to reach Ashley. She seemed genuinely interested. I took your advice and called her several times, but there was no answer. Nothing. Nada. No message to the caller. It just rang about a dozen times each time
