Jefferson brought Celina into his room and decided not to let her get away with his questioning. He wanted them to stay in one room and live like normal married couples. He was tired of avoiding each other when they knew they couldn't do anything about it anymore because they were already married.
When he left, he thought and hoped Celina would get pregnant with his child. But it turned out that she didn't, and he thought that this could become his reason to go back and stay with her.
