Taking a shaky breath, I watched the front door rattle with Heath’s barrage of knocks as Lathen stepped toward it. Looking down, I could not help but fiddle with Lathen’s shirt I was borrowing. Pulling it further down my thighs, my heart raced as the material stretched under my shaky fingers. The door unlocked, it flew open before Lathen even took the handle. Lathen’s hand jutting out, he caught the edge of the door before it hit him square in the face as he slightly backed up eyes widening with a rage and surprise.
