Chapter 4 - Don't Go

1128 Words
The bench top grew cold under my legs, penetrating into my skin, a shiver raked over my body as I placed a hand over my chest. A harsh yell piercing through the air, even over my radio and through the doors I heard Heath’s voice, “I said no Maria!” Turning off the music my curiosity was peaked as I moved quietly back into my bedroom. Was it happening, was Heath finally leaving. “but I came back to spend time with you, I cancelled my plans tonight for you.” Mothers voice was filled with irritation, most people would only see and hear it as someone who had been mistreated. Someone full of incense, I could picture Heath in my head falling for the well rehearsed facial expressions she was no doubt using like she had on so many others. He used to fall for it all the time, a few words and a guilt trip and she had most men eating out of the palm of her hands. “Why do you not go spend some time with your daughter, have you even spoken to her for more then five minutes over the past two weeks?” Silence, that was what followed. Heath’s words were brutally honest, she literally did not rebuff the statement or have any kind of rebuttal. The silence continuing, I could imagine her standing there like a stunned mullet. The next sound being that of their bedroom door closing with a quiet click as Heath retreated from the kitchen. My mothers heel clacking across the floor, I could hear her heading my way. Each step sounding, I could detect the annoyance and attitude in each step as she approached. Great! Thank you Heath! You do not want to deal with her, so you send her to me. Knowing I had locked my door, I backed away slowly as the handle started rattling violently. It was definitely too late to hide in the bathroom. As usual it was lovely to see her using her manners and respecting my privacy to knock first, I gave her way too much credit. “Alice let me in!” Her voice was loud enough so I would hear the edge, but low enough that Heath would not hear her at all from the bedroom. Moving to the door, I slowly unsnapped the lock. Opening in a heartbeat my mother took front and centre moving inside instantaneously. Her eyes narrowing on me as she moved to sit on the side of my bed. “He will come around Alice. Do not sweat it, I know you like this one. He has just got to put out soon or my body will not cope.” A humourless laugh sounding from her lips. “Anyway, I am going away for the next few days, I’ll text you. Make sure you put in some good words for me.” Getting up, she walked towards the door, stopping a few steps from the threshold as she threw a glance over her shoulder, “have you heard from your father?” Shaking my head, she continued out the door with a slight wave of her hand. If there was one thing I ever promised to myself, it was that I was never going to end up being a mother like her. Everything with her was about money, her image and where to find her next thrill. Following her to the threshold of my room I had meant to close the door. Only Heath was already in the kitchen grabbing a bottle of water out of the fridge. My mother moving once again to Heath’s side, I watched as Heath lifted his gym bag over his shoulder. Closing my door slightly, I knew he was going to be home late, if at all. The front door slamming closed I heard a frustrated growl as my mother’s voice sounded obviously having made a phone call. Slowly pulling my door the rest of the way shut, I slid into bed. Pulling out my laptop, I checked my accounts. I have been saving for a long while now, but I needed more to get my deposit for a house together. I was only 21, but I had been skimping and saving since I was 14 years old. As soon as I was able to be self-sufficient, I was out of this place. Placing my laptop on the night stand, I ignored the grumbles in my stomach signalling my hunger as I pulled up the covers. Snuggling down into the fluffy sheets I reached out using the remote to turn off the lights. Closing my eye’s I tried to force myself to sleep. Unable to I kept picturing Heath, remembering his hands caressing my body, sucking on my lips. His muscular arms pulling me closer, tighter to his taught muscled body. Finally shoving the thoughts of Heath out of my mind I tried to keep my head clear of him, with no success. My phone sounding, I sighed loudly before resigning to grab it. I was going to happen eventually, my curiosity burning to know who it was and what they wanted. Surprised and suddenly regretful that I even looked, I had two text messages sitting in my inbox. 7:44pm Eric to Alice – I’m sorry. Let’s talk. Breakfast? 8:06pm. Heath to Alice – We need to talk! Breakfast? My heart suddenly in a spot of anxiety, it skipped every second beat. I did not know what to do, what to say. Panic getting the best of me, I pressed the side button of my phone darkening the screen. Go to sleep and pretend you did not see them, then sleep in and avoid both of them. Placing down my phone, I felt satisfied with my plan. It did not deal with the problems, but I also meant I did not have to deal with the problems at this current point, and as far as I was aware, it would not create any others. Turning over, I could not stop thinking about the messages. Over and over again, they played on replay in my mind. Finally giving in after stewing on what to say for what felt like hours, I finally sent one message back. 9:05pm Alice to Heath – ok.   Read ahead on my p*****n https://www.patreon.com/tigerlillie60 Also gain access to early chapters of this book and my other each week as well as weekly erotic one shots.
