The doctor in charge came to check up on Nikolai a little while later. I got up and stood beside him while they checked his vitals, wrote a few prescriptions, gave instructions, and asked him a few questions.
He was mostly sleepy throughout, and I answered most of the questions. Once the doctor was gone, he dizednofd again, and I sat beside him, holding his hand.
It was late afternoon when a nurse came to give him his medications, and I took the chance to run back to the hotel. I needed to change, pick a few things, and also arrange for food for him.
Once back at the hotel, the slight blood stain on the floor right next to the bathroom made me almost vomit. I shook my head and grabbed a paper towel, went in my knees, and scrubbed it clean, my chest heaving.
