CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX
Malcolm and Casper bumbled around invisibly inside the city of Milodor for quite a while. They soon split up as they couldn’t talk to one another or see where the other was. Malcolm sought out the palace of the Lord of Milodor. It was in the exact centre of the city and was considerably larger than all the other buildings around it. But inside it was deserted. Malcolm searched around to see if the crown had been left in the palace, but there was very little left. Maybe Diablo already had the crown? But the clearance looked much more systematic than that. Absolutely everything of any value was gone. He could see where paintings had been removed from the walls, and where carpets had been taken up.
