Ava I sat on the bed, my hands holding onto the sheets tightly against my body, with my gaze locked on Caspian as he adjusted his clothes. The movement was smooth, almost practiced. He seemed so casual, but I could feel the tension lingering in the air between us. I didn’t know how to handle it. “Goodnight,” Caspian said, his voice steady, almost detached. I didn’t answer. Instead, I simply turned my face away, unable to look him in the eyes. He grabbed the door handle and left the room, closing the door behind me with a soft click that felt like it echoed in the silence.
