Chapter 11: Revelations

3517 Words
*** Jack POV ***                   I lead the group towards the kitchen for drinks.  The omegas handed us our drinks and said the food would be ready momentarily. We walk out back and see by the pool overlooking the territory.                 “Oh wow! Jack this looks amazing!” Harley states looking out. Even though there’s some buildings behind it doesn’t block the view. The packhouse is on a hill, as far as the eye can see, is the valley that the pack is named for. Soon the moon will be showing and the way the valley looks is magical.                 “Thank you. I’m happy you like it. Please make yourself comfortable. Would you like to sit here by the pool or maybe on the deck?” I point to the deck a few steps further out.                 “I would love the deck if you don’t mind?” Dawn comments.                 “Not at all.” We take our seats. There’s a little bit of awkward silence before I decide to make everyone at ease. After all I am the Alpha, and you have to make your guests feel welcome.                 “So, when how did you find out about werewolves?” I asked Genevieve and Jojo’s parents.                 “Well… that’s a long story. We all hit it off as soon as we met each other,” Kane gestures to the girls’ parents. “Soon after meeting each other together we started to hangout without the girls being there. This led to us wanting to go on vacations and things like that. It hadn’t been too long that Cleo, Damion and I have been aware of the werewolves, but we were out at dinner one night and some guy tried to hit on Harley. I don’t mean just polite compliments; this guy wouldn’t leave her alone. He even tried to grab her.” Kane pauses to take a breath and shake his head. I imagine based on his reaction that this is a very watered-down explanation of the event.                 “When the guy tried to reach for Harley, Zane stepped in, except his eyes were different colors, he was super strong, and he was growling. He tried to play it off, but I’m not one to back down and I knew it was more than what he was telling us. He, finally, caved and explained what was going on. I didn’t believe him at first, but after some convincing we believed him.” Kane finished rubbing his chin. He had kind of a ruddy look. He had a very short beard that was auburn leaning more towards red, his hair was shaggy but not too long, He had strong features. If I wasn’t a werewolf, or an Alpha, or even 6’8”, then I could see him as intimidating. However, since I was an Alpha werewolf and Mr. Murphy is an even 6’ then I just find him intriguing and an equal.                 “Wow, I can’t believe that you’ve known about this. I’m so surprised…” Genevieve states. “But does this mean that you fully understand the werewolf community?”                 “We understand a decent amount. Why do you ask?” Cleo interjects.                 “Well, because our mates are ranked members. So, Scar is the Gamma female, I’m the Beta female and Gen is the Luna. The female name of the Alpha female.” Jojo answers.                 “Well, we knew of ranked members, what mates mean and their titles, but we didn’t realize that you girls’ would be mated to them and end up becoming them yourselves. I can’t say I’m unhappy, because now you have an entire pack to protect each of you. I couldn’t be happier.” Kane looks at Genevieve and answers. She smiles at him and gets up to hug him and give her mom a kiss on the cheek.                 Just then the food is brought out, by several omegas because of how much there was.                 “Wait! Omegas, please don’t leave just yet.” Genevieve swiftly stops them before they can leave. She then turns to our group. “Do you think this will be enough for all of us?” We take a look at the very large buffet set before us. We all mumble our agreements that it’ll be enough. She turns back to the omegas but speaks to one in particular.                 “Clarie, is there more food in the kitchen?”                 “Yes, Luna. There’s the same amount in the kitchen. We didn’t know how many people would be here and we wanted to ensure there would be enough food.” Clarie responds while looking at the ground. Normally, it’s a sign of respect within the omegas to not make direct eye contact. I’m not sure why they do it, but they’ve always done that for as long as I’ve been aware.                 “Omegas, please look at me. I’m not sure why the majority of the omegas that I’ve seen have been acting the same way, aside from when I first met them. However, just because I am the Luna of this pack does not mean that I will act as if I’m above you. So, please moving forward we will respect each other and communicate with eye contact. Am I understood?” They all nod their understanding. “Great! Now, as I was saying. This amount of food will be more than plenty for our group out here. Please share the rest amongst the omegas.”                 They looked like kids on Christmas morning as they walked inside to enjoy the food. It made me just as happy that I have someone by my side that thinks of others in that capacity. I couldn’t wait to make her my Luna. Which I needed to announce and plan for as soon as possible. I didn’t care about her needing to train first. I wanted her in the role so she can be seen and respected as Luna.                 “That was amazing, Genevieve. I’m so proud of you.” Dawn speaks up. “Have you had your Luna ceremony yet?” She looked apprehensive as she asked her question.                 “No, mom. Not yet. We’ve had a few things happen that have made us pause and deal with them first.” Genevieve then went on to explain her attempted kidnapping.                 All the parents looked shocked except for Genevieve’s parents. Her dad looked ready to kill, and her mom looked terrified beyond words.                 “Mrs. Murphy, it’s ok. She wasn’t taken she’s fine now.” Sebastian comments.                 “No, no, no, no, no, no, NO, NO, NO!!!! I thought I had more time.” She then looks up at the sky and scream “YOU TOLD ME I HAD MORE TIME!!!” I’m both shocked and confused by this statement. Who is she screaming to?                 Kane grabbed her arms and pulled her into his lap. He stroked her hair to help calm her down.                 “Mrs. Murphy, your reaction made me think, about prior knowledge to werewolves.” Jojo steps forward. “Kane stated when he and my parents found out about them. But he doesn’t mention you even though you were surprised by Gen being mated to one. Did you find out at a later time or did you have prior knowledge?”                 Dawn closes her eyes, when she opens, they she looks at Genevieve with… guilt?                 “I’m so sorry, sweetie.” She says looking away.                 “For what?” Genevieve asks confused.                 “I know you’ve always questioned why you’re so different. Why you have the visions, and now why you are able to project a force out of you.” Dawn starts explaining. Genevieve nods her head for her mother to keep going. I can feel my heart racing. I hope whatever is about to be said won’t hurt my love. I couldn’t handle her to be in pain.                 “You see I myself am a something from the supernatural world.” There’s a collective gasp around the us ranked members.                 “What do you mean by that? Are you a werewolf too?” I ask.                 “No, I’m not… I’m a deity. My name is Dawn for a reason. My official name is Eos, but since I am the goddess of the Dawn I thought it would be a more appropriate name. I’m, also, your moon goddess, Selene’s sister.” She finished her statement, and my jaw didn’t even feel connected to my head anymore. I felt lightheaded by this information. My future mother-in-law is a goddess. Holy sh*t?! Does that mean Genevieve is a—                 “Alpha!!” My thoughts are interrupted by Dr. Lawrence rushing to us with papers in his hand. “I’m so sorry to interrupt, but this couldn’t wait any longer than it has. We MUST speak at once!” He says urgently. I apologize to the group, grab Genevieve and all of us head to a conference room at the back of the packhouse.                 “I apologize for pulling you away from your party.” He apologizes to both of us.                 “That’s ok, Dr. Lawrence. What did you need to speak with us regarding?” Genevieve asked.                 “Well, as you know I received your results earlier today and I went to the elders to see what it means exactly.” He looks back at the papers, pulls one out with charts on it. “This one here shows what type of blood you have. These levels here mean that you have mana.” He points to the middle of the page.                 “Yes, Doctor. You explained this earlier. What did the elders come back with that caused the news to be so urgent?” I asked impatiently. I wanted to know the news, but if it was the same thing he told us earlier then I was bothered to be pulled away from my gathering.                 “Well,” He fidgets excitedly, “these results coincide with being directly related to the moon goddess.” He finishes.                 “Like, directly? As in I’m her daughter?” I ask confused. I knew I was part deity now, but I wasn’t sure what that meant in being directly related because my mother was literally her sister.                 “No, as in you have a part of the moon goddess herself inside you. Not enough for you to be considered her reincarnation, but enough to possess some of her abilities. What those are, we’re not sure.” He answered.                 “How do the elders even have DNA of the moon goddess to compare Genevieve’s to?” I asked. I was happy that we were getting answered, but I didn’t think anyone would have something so personal of hers.                 “I was curious about that too. However, the elders weren’t willing to share that information.” I thought then maybe we could find out more information from Dawn regarding that.                 “Thank you for lettin’ us know, doc. I appreciate the urgency for this.” I stand up and shake his hand. We go our separate ways, him back to the hospital I assume, and us back to our friends and family.                   “Is everything ok?” Zane asks as we appear in the doorway.                 “Everythin’ is fine. After the accident earlier the doctor ran Genevieve’s bloodwork and noticed some irregularities. He spoke with the elders, and they found out that she is a part of the moon goddess.” Just then everyone started to speak at once.                 “WHAT?!”                 “No way!!”                 “How is that possible?”                 We turn to Dawn in her seat. “Please, come sit down and I will explain.”                 As we sit down Dawn takes a deep breath. “It is common for deities to take mortal lovers, but it is absolutely unheard of for one to take each other at their partners. When I met your father, I knew that I couldn’t live without him, and I didn’t want to. We’ve decided to live our lives as normal as possible at least for a few more years and then I plan to share my immortality with your father. As a deity I cannot die, and I won’t live in a world where he does not exist.” She paused to take a breath and received a quick kiss from her husband. It made me smile that even someone as great as her cannot resist love.                 “When we found out that we were pregnant with you we were ecstatic. You were, and have, been, everything we’ve ever wanted.” She said with tears in her eyes. “But one night when I was 7 months along a demon came to me. He said that he loves me, and he wants to bear my children as our child would be more powerful than any being that’s come before. I told him no, but he refused to accept it. He stated that either him or someone in his lineage will have an offspring with a deity if it’s the last thing he does. I told my sister Selene of this. We already knew that you would be half deity, but what we didn’t know, and what she swore me to secrecy until you needed to know, is that she planned on mating you with one of her children.” She gestured towards me. “So, because of that she’s decided that she would give piece of herself and put it into you. She knew who she planned to mate you with, and what pack. So she gave a sample of her blood to the elders for safe keeping until they can compare yours to it. Then they were given instructions to destroy it. It was only meant to be there until you came along.”                 “The doctor told me that I have mana in my blood. Is that what she gave me?” Genevieve asked.                 “No, that comes from any deity, so in this instance it comes from me. Selene gave you a literal piece of her soul. A small sliver, but enough that when the time comes, you’ll be strong enough to defeat the demon.”                 “So, I now have power from two deities. Does this mean that I have immortality?” Genevieve questions.                 “No, but once you are turned you will live as long as a werewolf does. So about 800-900 years. Since you’re a ranked wolf it’ll most likely be closer to 900.” We both nod our heads.                 “Will I be able to get my powers still as a wolf?” Genevieve asks.                 “Absolutely. However, there is a specific process in order to receive the moon goddess’ powers. You must be marked, turned and announced as Luna on the same night. The full moon.” Dawn explains.                 “What? But the full moon is tomorrow.” Scar states.                 My stomach drops. I want to be tied to my Darlin’ in everyway possible, but I didn’t want her to be rushed.                 “Darlin’, no one said anything about it bein’ this full moon specifically. We can either do it tomorrow if you want, or we can wait a month and do it then.” I provide her options.                 She looks at me and I can tell that she’s contemplating. “Let’s do it tomorrow. I don’t want to wait any longer to be your and this packs Luna.”                 I grab her hand and kiss it then I kiss her lips. I want to kiss her deeply, but I don’t think it’s appropriate with her parents right in front of us. As if she can read my thoughts she says, “Later, baby. I bought a surprise for you at the mall.”                 “I already saw that, Darlin’, and I can’t wait.” I whisper in her ear. She giggles and replies, “That and something else.” She winks at me. I’m shocked and aroused at the same time. I d*mn near sprinted out of there caveman style with her on my shoulder. I couldn’t wait until later, I smiled to myself as all the images of what I planned to do to her flitted through my mind.   *** Genevieve POV ***                 As I turned my attention back to the group, I hear that Scar is talking about how difficult it’s been getting the other employees to listen to her.                 “I would love to hold some kind of responsibility at the bar. Maybe then people will actually listen to me.” She complained. “it would be nice too for Genevieve to come back.” She looked at me and pouted. I laughed, I knew she loved the bar, to be honest I loved it too. I just left because of Chad, but now with the promotion I knew I didn’t need the money anymore.                 “I have WAY too much going on now to be at a bar most nights.” She pouted some more and mumbles ‘I guess.’                 I saw Josh and Jack exchange a look, then Josh got up and walked inside. I wondered what that was for, but before too long he returned with a folder in hand.                 “Recently, after Chad left Jack had an idea. He presented it to me and April. April completed the legality portions of it while I did everything else that was necessary. Now, both of you can refuse or one of you can refuse and the other can take it. However, if you both wanted to take it then that’s the main idea.” Josh explains while looking between Scar and I. I feel Jack rub my back for comfort. He knew I was getting antsy.                 “Josh, handsome, what is it?” Scar asks.                 “We have a contract here for you and Genevieve to become owners, and partners, for Twins Club.” Scar immediately jumped up and started screaming.                 I was floored. Here I was being offered another partnership. I turned to Jack and saw the anticipation written on his face. I jumped into his arms. “THANK YOU!! OMG I’m so excited!! I can’t believe another partnership!” I get up and hug Scar.                 “Yes, we would love to be partners for the bar!” She exclaims.                 “I would need to be a less involved owner, and we would need to hire a manager since you’ll, also, have Gamma duties to attend to, but I’m so excited!!” I say to her.                 “That’s fine! I’m just happy to own it and to be working with you again!” She does a little happy dance and everyone there laughs at how silly she looks. She then grabs Josh’s hand and quickly says goodnight to everyone. Then they both take off running into the house.                 With that the group started to disperse. We say our goodnight to everyone. I make sure to mention to my mom that I need her to be there tomorrow to help me get ready. I can’t believe everything that’s happening. I take Jack’s hand as we close the front door as the last parent left. Scar and Josh were long gone, Sebastian and Jojo left soon after them.                 We get to the bottom of the stairs and Jack leans down to kiss me. It starts off slow and soon turns passionate. I reach up and wrap my arms around his neck. He breaks the kiss, grabs me waist and throws me over his shoulder caveman style.                 “Ahh!!” I scream at the sudden shock. He smacks my a*s hard as he races up all five flights of stairs to our bedroom. I feel myself getting excited. I can’t wait for him to see what I got in store tonight.
