*** Genevieve POV ***
As I get up on Monday morning I roll over and see Jack still asleep in my bed, it’s funny to see
someone of his size try to fit on a queen mattress. Even though we agreed for me to move in, it had
been such an eventful Saturday that I decided I wanted to wait a week. This would give me time to pack
and speak with my management company.
I decide that I’m going to do that first thing this morning. I get out of bed and take a shower. I
take my time getting ready since after speaking with my management office I plan to go to work, and it’ll
be my first day in my position and I can’t wait to start!
I finish showering and towel dry myself off and put on my scented lotion. I put on very minimal
makeup and I decide to only put on a pendant. I blow dry my hair and pin one side behind my ear to
keep it out of my face. Then, I go put on my nicest suit, it’s a charcoal grey matching pants and jacket
set. I pair it with a white top from Express.
By the time that I’m finished I hear Jack start to get up. I walk over to him to give him a kiss and
say “Good morning, Handsome.”
“Good Mornin’, Darlin’. I didn’t think you’d wake up before me. Normally I’m the early bird.”
Jack says as he returns my kiss.
“I know, but I need to go to my rental office and speak with them about my lease. Hopefully
they’ll understand that it’s extenuating circumstances and let me out. I only have two months left
before I needed to resign, which I won’t be doing. For obvious reasons.” Jack smiled at my last
statement and pulled me on top of him. “Ahhh! No, Lover, I just finished getting ready.” I say while
pushing myself up.”
Jack holds me for just a few more moments before getting up himself to get ready. He brought
his work clothes here so I assume he plans to go straight to his office from here.
“So, do you have to go to different sites since you own multiple businesses?” I ask.
“No, drivin’ between the locations would take too much time. I own an office buildin’ in
downtown Fort Worth where all the top managers are for each of my companies. Plus, it helps that the
caterin’ and consultin’ companies don’t need a buildin’ for the business since we end up going to
where the client needs us.” He replied then stepped into the bathroom to get ready for the day. I
decided while I waited for him to get ready, I would make a small breakfast of eggs, 2 strips of bacon, an
English muffin and black coffee, since I wasn’t sure how he liked it yet.
I was plating both of our breakfast and put them on the counter since we wouldn’t have time to
sit down and have breakfast together. Jack came down shortly after and we made small talk about what
we expected in our day.
“So, are you excited for your first day as partner?” He asked.
“Yes! But, I’m, also, nervous. I want to make sure that I’m doing a good job, otherwise Jojo
might regret giving me this position.” I said half in thought.
“You can’t think like that. You know that it was your work ethic that made her make this
decision, not you bein’ her friend. She might love you like a sister, but she’s thinkin’ like a business
owner regardin’ this decision.” He stated.
“You’re right.” I take a calming breath and clear the table. Jack puts on his tie and shoes, grabs
his things while I do the same. I close the door behind me and lock it. As we’re coming downstairs we
run into Sebastian and Jojo on their way out as well.
“Hey! I was gonna see if you wanted to ride in together today?” Jojo asked me. “Ya! I’d love to.”
Jack and Sebastian gave both Jojo and I a kiss before we departed ways.
*** Jack POV ***
We pull out of the apartment complex and head to work.
“Ok, all the equipment is already packed up and ready for pickup from the Fielder’s 16th birthday
party over the weekend, right?” I look over to Sebastian as he’s driving.
“Ya, it is. Bradley is on his way there now to pick it up. Before you ask, Noah has already packed
up the equipment for the Nickelson wedding.”
I nodded my head, “Also, I want to look into a partnership with Genevieve and Jojo’s business. I
didn’t ask them the name of their business, though. I want to be open to other contracts with other
event planners, but if someone comes to us first or vice versa then I want us to be able to recommend
each other.”
Sebastian laughed, “I figured you would say that so I texted April in legal to start typing up a
contact between the two of us. And their business name is Southern Charm Event Planners. I didn’t
forget to ask.” I gave him a sideways look for his last remark. We kept listened the radio for the rest of
the trip there.
Once we arrived and parked we went our separate ways in the office. It was a fairly large office
building since we wanted to keep each aspect of the businesses separate. We have 5 floors in total. The
top is for myself, Sebastian and Josh. The fourth is for legal and HR. The third floor is conference rooms,
Then the second and first floor is for any positions of high standing in any of the businesses. Each floor is
broken up into three sections for each of my three businesses.
I step into my office excited to get to work. I have lots of plans forming in my head that I need to
get onto paper before I lose them, but before I can do that I want to a quick meeting.
I ask my assistant Cecilia to call April and Josh to come to my office. She’s a new hire, right out of
college, but she seems to be doing well.
As I wait for April and Josh to arrive I start to write down my ideas. Some are good and some not
now that I see them written down. All of them are choppy since it’s the first time this idea is being
written down.
I look up as I get a knock on my door and see Cecilia pop her head in, “Mr. Jones, April and Josh
have arrived.” She opens the door further for them to walk in. “Would any of you like anything to
drink?” She asks.
“Coffee, 2 sugars no cream. Thanks Cecilia.” I tell her.
“Same for me.” Jack adds.
“I’ll just take some tea with a lemon and 3 sugars, please?” April asks.
“Of course. Coming right up.” She bows her head and closes the door, normally I would find it
odd that my assistant bows her head, but since I mainly higher shifters, and even more specifically ones
from my pack, then I see it as a sign of respect. Even though she had been away at College since she was
17 I still considered her a valuable member and hired her once she graduated.
April looked back at me, “She’s cute. You know if you try anything with her both my department
and HR are going to have to step in.”
“What? No! I hired her because I liked her resume. Even more so, I found my mate this weekend
so there won’t be anyone else that I’m interested in ever again.”
Her eyes wide, “No s**t? Congratulations, boss.”
“Thank you. It’s funny actually all three of us, myself, Sebastian and Josh found our mates on the
same day.”
April looked even more shocked. Josh added, “What’s even more shocking is that they’re all
friends. At least we don’t have to worry about them not liking each other.”
“You’re kidding? Wow, the Moon Goddess really knew what she was doing here, huh? So I guess
they’ve started taking on their roles already? Will they start working here too?” April asked.
“No, I mean if they want to they’re more than welcome, but they Genevieve, my mate, and
Jolene, Sebastian’s mate, are partners in the event plannin’ business he told you to make a contract
about.” Just then Cecilia came back in with our drinks and left.
“Ok! Great! I should have it ready by the end of the day.” I nodded my head.
“That’s good to hear. Now, the reason that I brought you up here I wanted to talk about another
business proposition.” As I explained what I wanted to do to both, I saw them first go through confusion,
then shock, then finally excitement. The agreed to my idea and would look into it to see what we can
accomplish as soon as possible
“I don’t want anyone finding out about this. This is a surprise for multiple people and I want
them surprised.” I tell them using my alpha voice.
“Yes, Alpha.” The both responded and then got up to leave.
I worked for a few more hours before I realized it was lunch time. I paged Cecilia to order food
from the Deli and I decided to call the my love.
“Hello, handsome.”
“Goddess I missed your voice. How is that possible I only saw you this mornin’.” I chuckled to
myself.
Genevieve laughed into the phone. It was the most beautiful sound I’ve heard. “Well, Darlin’, I
was just givin’ you a call to see how your conversation with the with leasin’ office.”
“It went really good. I was a month off, I would’ve had to resign at the end of the moth anyway
and since I already paid for this month I can move out with no issues. I checked for Jojo and same goes
for her to, which I figured since we rented at the same time.” She stated.
“Well that’s real good news, love. We should start packin’ as soon as possible.” I told her.
“I will start doing so tonight. Maybe we can order some Chinese or something. I don’t need to
pack up everything since there’s obviously replacements at your house. Like a bed, a dresser things like
that so we can post those today online to sell. I, also, need to go to the bank later today I can deposit my
jugs of coins.” She replied.
Finding out that she had several jugs full of coins was a little bit of shock, but after finding out
how much money she saves up using this method I thought she was a genius.
“Ok, Darlin’ I just have a few things to finish up here for the rest of the day then I can be home
with you. I’ll bring the food and some extra hands so we can speed up the process. Also, that way you
don’t have to worry about stoppin’ on the way home after the bank.” I tell her.
“That would be wonderful. Thank you! I have to go now though. I have a potential client coming
in.” Muah, she kisses into the phone then hangs up. My sandwich arrives and I start eating while I
continue working through my self-assigned work so I can be done quick enough to get out on timem.
*** Jojo POV **
I never realized how stressful my position really was. It was always myself at the top for five long
years I was always bearing all the responsibility. But, now that I have a partner, even though it’s the first
day, it’s still loads of stress off my shoulders.
“Wow, you handles that bridezilla like a pro. I would’ve hung up on her and told her to kick rocks
long ago, but not only did you calm her down and steer her in the right direction without bein’ rude, but
you, also, got her to apologize to you.” I shake my head in disbelief at Genevieve.
“She wasn’t that bad, she probably had a small gremlin somewhere whispering in her ear. I
mean seriously who thinks that lime green bridesmaid dresses are in. I will waterboard who told her that
they would look good.” She said. I laughed at her comment and looked up at my new assistant Lorraine
who brought in a huge bouquet of flowers and handed them to Gen.
“Wow, there has to be over a dozen red roses.” I tell her. “What does the card say?” I ask. I’m
way too curious for my own good.
“It just says ‘Congratulations.’ That’s it. Hmm, I guess someone heard about my promotion,
maybe?” She said confused.
I was a little confused too. I knew I had sent out a mass email to all of the business that we work
with regularly letting them know about the change, but I didn’t think any of them were close enough to
either of us in a way that they would send red roses.
“Oh well, either way it was a nice gesture.” Gen blows it off as she sets it on the side of her
desk.
I decided not to think too much of it too and got back to work. I still have a few more bookings
to confirm then we would be able to go home and start packing up both of our apartments for the day.
