David’s POV;
These f*cking Russians are getting on my eggs. I sat behind my desk, signing documents, trying to focus, until my office door burst open like someone was being chased.
Leonard.
Of course.
“Dave, you won’t believe what just happened,” he exclaims breathlessly.
“Lo giuro su Dio... Se irrompessi nel mio ufficio in questo modo per dire sciocchezze, ... Ti sparerei.” I yell at him been annoyed.
Translation: (i swear to god...if you barged into my office like this to only speak rubbish,... i will shoot you)
“No, no, no! I swear it isn’t anything like that,” he says while standing in my office.
I sigh heavily and rub my forehead: “Just tell me what you want. You look like a child about to piss in his pants without him noticing Lol.”
“Right. I came here to say it, but you are only distracting. Okay, guess who was found unalive this morning in his hotel suite??” he says, knowing fully well, I hate guessing.
“Who??”
He gulps and speaks again, “Marcine was found dead in his hotel room this morning, and there’s no evidence was so ever that anybody was in his room yesterday, so i don’t understand.”
“Alright,” I said flatly. “So now I need to replace him. Is that why you ran in here like a madman?” Leonard shook his head quickly and pushed a file toward me.
“Take a look at yourself, and you will know why I am entering like this here,” he pushes a folder towards me.
I opened it and saw the pictures of his body, but what caught my attention was what was on his forehead, covering the hole in between his eyes, and when I saw the encravement, I knew it was THEM. No, not just them, but Her. My eyes shot up and met Leo's disbelief eyes
“Was there anything else?” I asked.
Leonard hesitated.
“....Yeah.”
I looked up.
“On his body… the word r****t was carved.”
Something inside me snapped. Slow, Cold, and Controlled.
“Announce a Board Meeting Now! We need to stay on our guard.
I need to see this woman. She is one of the — if not the best assassins in the world…. You can’t escape her plans. Her ways are perfect and executed like a master pro. But no one knows who she is or what she looks like. A ghost is more visible than she. But Marcine was a r****t?.... I allow so many things, but human trafficking is an exception in many cases, and it leads to instant death if you're caught, but was Marcine doing it for so long under my nose?
I finished up what I was doing and went to my room, took a hot, quick shower, and got dressed. I changed into a blue navy suit and started wearing my tie, which was misbehaving today. Please don't do this, I have better things to do, I groan. While I was trying to figure it out, there was a knock on my door.
“Come on in.”
My twin sis comes in with a smile and leans on my door. “What are you doing, David, with that tie?”
“Sto cercando di indossare questa stupida cravatta ma oggi fa i capricci, non ho tempo per queste stronzate Ammara” i groans getting annoyed.
Translate : (trying to tie this stupid tie, but it’s misbehaving today. I don't have the time for this sh*t, Ammara)
“Big Bro, you’re–and you can’t tie a simple mf tie ??” she said, and I glared at her.
“You either help or get out,” I say, re-trying to tie it again.
“Okay, okay, stop crying.”
She moved and came in front of me and did the job in a swift way. Once she’s done, she smiles and says I look handsome," which makes me smile too. I finished getting ready, sprayed my expensive perfume, put my expensive watch on, my shoes straight, and then I was good to go. I am exactly who I think I am. After the Board meeting, everybody is on their guard and tells everyone to be safe and cautious, and always be vigilant with their two open eyes. Then everybody boarded their matte black Audi R8.
Once we reached the ball, we got out and walked towards the entrance. The door was open for us, and we went in. I went straight to the new manager of the shipments and started discussing how things need to be from now on. I was mid-conversation with the new shipment manager when Leonard rushed to my side again.
His voice was low this time and more urgent.
He whispered in my ear, “We just received a message that all signals and cameras are down in the warehouse. I think we have a visitor,” he says. I excused myself and left.
“Cosa intendi con "siamo fottutamente giù?” I spoke loudly while getting out.
Translation : (What do you mean we are mother*cking down??)
“I don’t know David, but we have to leave NOW!” he tells me, and we hurriedly leave. We got into my car, and I drove like a maniac. When I arrive there, I signal them to move in. One person kicked the door down, and everybody scattered to the corners, and I shouted, “I want them alive."
I see my guards all dead on the floor in every corner I turn. Leo, Dim, and Tin followed behind me. We heard footsteps in one corner, and without telling my men twice, they ran towards the noise, and they shot whoever they met.
“Boss, we have one,” Dim shouted.
And I heard a female voice say, “I am the only disgusting i***t," and she hissed.
Well, she didn’t lie. He’s an i***t, but not disgusting.
I went behind them, and they opened the way for me. I came face to face with the most striking eyes I have ever met, and she’s damn gorgeous. And for a moment, everything else disappeared. She was lying on the ground, but it was as if she owned the place.
Calm, Unbothered, and.... Dangerous.
Her eyes met mine. Sharp, Unapologetic, and Alive. Interesting. Very interesting. I took a slow step forward, studying her. She was young but not weak. Not even close. She’s around 5’9, I think. She has brown hair, and I guess her body is nice and sweet…. I can use her if I don’t feel like killing her. But the way she held herself, I just knew she belonged in this world. Maybe she could be an assassin, spy, enforcer, or something more. I stared at her for a while, and she didn’t look away either.
Didn’t flinch, didn’t fear me. That alone made her dangerous (Who is she?).
I smirked slightly.
“She’s mine.”
I turned and looked at Leo. He just nodded his head, took his gun, and knocked her out, and she went unconscious. Silence filled the room again, but this time it was different. I walked closer, looking down at her. Something about this felt… Wrong, too easy. I crouched slightly, studying her face. Then my eyes narrowed.
No.
This wasn’t just some random intruder; this was.... I stood up abruptly.
“Carry her to the Basement.” Nobody moved.
My voice dropped.
Cold.
Deadly.
“Now!”
