32 By the time Adi arrived back at the large hall, she was nearly running, driven by her ever-growing fear for the safety of her two friends. Her rush came to a sudden stop when she saw the two faerie warriors who had dragged the wolf to his cell standing next to the queen. Her expression was triumphant, and again Adi had the ominous feeling that she was being played. The queen now had three aces up her sleeve against her. Honi was out there somewhere, Florice was half-dead in a cell, and the wolf didn’t look like he might last much longer.
