Min-ha's eyes brim with tears as she searches Elie-yun's face, her voice barely above a whisper,
"But what if it's too late? What if Father's pride and King Ji-hoon's ambition have already sealed my fate?"
She glances around the secluded garden, as if fearing pruned ears might be listening, before turning back to Elie-yun.
"I've heard King Ji-hoon is cruel, that he...he doesn't care about anyone but himself. How can I survive a life with someone like that?"
Elie-yun's grip on Min-ha's hand tightens, her expression a mask of determination.
"You won't have to face it alone, I promise. We'll gather the council members, appeal to their sense of duty to the people. A forced marriage to a man like Ji-hoon could ignite unrest, and they know it. There has to be a way to make them see reason."
She pauses, a spark of resolve igniting in her eyes.
"And if the council won't listen...we'll find another way. We'll make sure Ji-hoon isn't an option. Your life isn't a pawn in their game, Min-ha. It's yours to choose."
Min-ha's breath hitches, a glimmer of hope flickering to life within herMin-ha's nod is almost imperceptible, but Elie-yun's eyes light up with a spark of determination. She leans in, her voice low and urgent,
"Good. Then here's what we'll do..."
Elie-yun's words are barely audible, but Min-ha listens intently, her heart racing with anticipation and fear. As Elie-yun speaks, Min-ha's mind is a whirlwind of doubts and what-ifs. What if they get caught? What if Ji-hoon finds out? What if it's too late?
Despite her initial resolve, Min-ha's fear starts to take hold, paralyzing her. She feels like she's stuck in a never-ending nightmare, with no escape. Her thoughts are a jumbled mess, and she can't shake off the feeling of impending doom.
Elie-yun notices the change in Min-ha's expression and gently takes her hand.
"Hey, it's okay. We don't have to do this now. We can take a step back and-"
But Min-ha cuts her off, her voice barely above a whisper,
"No, I...I want to do it. I just...I'm scared."
Elie-yun's face softens, and she pulls Min-ha into a gentle hug.
"I know, Min-ha. It's okay to be scared. But you're not alone. I'm here with you, and I'll be with you every step of the way."
As Elie-yun holds her, Min-ha feels a small sense of comfort. She's still scared, but she's not alone. And with Elie-yun by her side, she might just find the courage to face whatever comes next.
Elie-yun's smile is small but fierce.
"Leave that to me. I have a plan..."
