The words flew out naturally. I can see Zane‘s eyes flashing with surprise. Martin’s mouth dropped in surprise. Hell, everyone was surprised, including me. “You’re his wife? I don’t recall having an invitation for the wedding.” Martin said. I looked at Zane hoping he would play along. As I was about to speak, Zane pulled me closer to him and kissed the top of my forehead. The simple gesture and the warmth of his lips cause me smile.
“Well what can I say, I wanted her all to myself. We eloped. We plan on having the actual ceremony for our one year anniversary.” I knew I was in trouble but I couldn’t just sit there while Martin looked and talked as if I’m just a piece of meat.
