CHAPTER 26Barry O’Donnell made no more than a perfunctory display of eagerness on first encountering Jimmy Lascar. Jimmy, eyes shielded behind dark aviator shades, had been straddling the Suzuki for the past ten minutes waiting patiently since the telephone call for Barry to show up. Jimmy had wedged the automatic pistol into the left side of his belt with his leather jacket pulled down over it, careful how he moved in case Barry clocked sight of it.
