CHAPTER 5She felt ridiculous now. The young man was staring at her questioningly, concern etched on his lean handsome features. Jimmy Lascar bought them both a coffee. The restaurant wasn’t exactly crowded, the lunch time rush having concluded. Jimmy selected a small corner table adjacent to the mock Tudor style lattice-paned window. He sipped his coffee slowly before setting it down on its saucer and reaching for a new packet of cigarettes in his jacket. Offering her a cigarette he noted the girl’s hands shook slightly on the lighter she flicked against it, aware for the first time, of her studded leather wristbands. Since he wore a large band on his left wrist he conjectured she might be either a biker or presumably into heavy metal music as he himself was. Whoever the girl was though, j
