Evelyn’s POV It had been five days. Five long, annoying, brain-twisting days since I last saw Damien. I stalked through the living room like a woman searching for her missing sanity. My eyes kept darting to the doorway, then the staircase, then back again, as if he’d just materialize out of thin air with that stupid smirk on his face. But no. Nothing. Not even his shadow. “Five days,” I muttered, kicking the edge of the rug. “Did he actually take that seriously? One little ‘I don’t feel it’ and he vanishes?
