Telling Father

It has been a week after the party and my mother has made it impossible for me to speak to Frankie. She has been glued to his side since the party and interrupts every time I try and talk to him. Me and Justin have been texting and video chatting while I am in my room. He is so easy to talk to and I feel so comfortable with him. It feels as if he has been my best friend for years. Today, with a little bit of help from Bonnie and Justin, I am going to speak to my dad some way. I am up extra early before my mother comes out of her dungeon to try and get to my father before she can do anything. I am sitting in the dining room reading a message Justin sent me.

" You can do this, I know you can. Stand strong and confident, and don't back down. I am here for you no matter what happens." I smiled as I read it.

" Good morning my dear. You are up pretty early." my father says, sitting beside me waiting for his coffee from Mr. Thompkins

" Good morning."

" Did you sleep ok last night?"

" Yes i slept fine."

" Is everything OK?" He asks concerned

" Actually, I have been trying to talk to you since the party."

" You have?"

" Yes, everytime I try, mom interrupts me or sidetracks you."

" I noticed she has been acting strangely. Usually she can't be around me for 5 minutes before arguing with me, but lately I can't get rid of her."

" Father, I really need to talk to you about what happened at the party."

" What happened? Is everything OK?" He says, now turning in his chair to face me.

"Well, I was getting something to drink when I came across a very disgusting person. He was googling at me like I was a piece of candy. So I told him to have some respect and quit looking at me like I was candy. He then says he would take me. Then he said he would use me when he wanted a piece of candy."

" OK?!?" he says, lowering his eyebrows, aggravation on his face.

" Well, mom came and forced me into a room to introduce me to a family. That is when I learned it was the Romanos and Leo is who I recently met. I respectfully declined and walked away. He then grabbed me by my arm really tight and told me I needed to be taught respect, and I needed to watch my mouth. Later that night, I was sitting by the pool and him and mom came out. Me and him had remarks to one another and then mom told me I had no right to act that way. I needed to watch what I said to him. That I was a spoiled brat that basically ruined her life. When I went to your office, I went to knock on the door and she grabbed my arm and dug her nails into my skin and wouldnt let me talk to you. She said I wasn't ruining this for her. I had such a bad feeling about Leo. I locked my door that night. I was scared he was going to follow me to my room. I hate him. He has already disrespected me, physically touched me. I honestly do not like him and I do not like the situation and what mom is planning. I have a very bad feeling, father."

"Well, that's a lot to take in. For one, I will address him grabbing you and disrespecting you. No one is going to touch you. But I was told by your mother that Leo and you got along perfectly and really hit it off?"

" No father. I tried to stay away from him and he was hitting on all the women, the caterer, the slutty bosses' daughters, everyone. He is a pig. Also, mom screamed at me in front of the caterers because I was talking to them."

" Well, you know your place when it comes to others."

" I know but they were respectful and didn't do anything to deserve her wrath."

" I understand. I will speak with your mother also. I now understand why she has been acting the way she has. You are right. Something is feeling very wrong with this. I will find out what her and the Romanos deal is. But no one can do anything without my permission. If you do not like the pig, we will do no business with them. I will stand behind you, not your mother, my dear. Like I taught you, if something doesn't feel right, trust your instinct."

" Thank you, father."

" I have to leave town for about a month. I have business to attend to in a few states. But I will let the security and help know the Romanos are not welcomed here until I get back. I will try and address your mother before I leave, but if I do not, I will address her as soon as I get back. I know she is your mother, but the Valentine blood is in your veins, not hers. You do what you need to do to protect yourself. Do you understand me?" He says, kissing the top of my head, and then leaving the room. 

" Yes father. Thank you." I say as he walked out of the room.

A little later, I finished my breakfast and orange juice and started to walk upstairs to my room. I heard my mom and Frankie yelling and arguing in the office.

"Frankie, they offered us 200 thousand dollars. 20 percent of the restaurant and they will become part of the family. They are almost as big as ours and you don't want to do it because she and Leo had a few words. You will run this family into the ground because of her."

" What don't you understand? He put his hands on my daughter in my house. Not only did he disrespect her, he disrespected me."

" Is that what she is telling you and you believe her?"

" Yes, I believe her and if you ever touch her again."

" What Frankie? What are you going to do?" My mother says sarcastically.

" Ann, do you not remember the only reason you are alive today is because of Maria. Do you not remember while you were staring at the barrel of a gun begging for your pathetic life? The only reason you are still breathing today is because you told about Maria being born."

" So what are you threatening me?"

" I am not threatening. I'm just helping you remember. The Romanos are not to come to this house while I am gone. They are not to speak to Maria. I will clean up your mess when I get back."

" Where are you going?"

" Dont worry. As soon as I leave, you will go to your boyfriends you dont think i know. The only reason you are here is because of Maria. She needs some type of mother, even if it is a w***e of a drunk. When she is 18 you are out."

" That's how it is going to be Frankie? Your just throwing me out like I am garbage because of her?"

" Get out of my f*****g office."

Suddenly, the office door slams shut. I quietly walked up the stairs to my room. Later that day, my father left and not soon after, my mother left as well. Another day of being alone in this empty house. Mikey will be a call away if I need to go anywhere. Plus, Frankie always leaves me cash and a credit card if I ever want to go shopping.

Alexander will be guarding the house, but mostly he sits in the security shack playing Playstation games. Then Marco will come and relieve Alexander and he would do the same. Bonnie will come check on me from time to time. Mr. Thompkins and the kitchen staff are here from 6 am to 6 pm and the housekeepers leave at different hours depending on what they need to clean. So I am pretty much in this house by myself. But i know where the panic room is and i also know where the panic buttons are to the security shack, as each room has a button. Even though I am alone, I am safe in the house.
