“Almes, you’re demoted from being my Beta.”
Duval declared.
Almes looked taken aback for a few seconds, before he pulled his tight face and nodded, respecting the Alpha’s decision.
It was one of his plans actually, to be demoted from the Beta position. He knew that there are heavy consequences in helping someone else’s Luna while they're under strict custody in comply with their Alpha's wishes, yet he couldn’t bear to see Jake Caius get tortured every time Agatha went to visit him. The least he could do to repay Jake for being ignorant is by helping him escape this hellhole.
He’s glad that Yvonne and her group found him. He was searching for ways to secretly guide them to where Jake was imprisoned while also leading the way to the escape route.
He’s now able to heave a relieved sigh.
