“Well if you weren’t so incompetent you wouldn’t have almost burned your house down!” I heard Nikki exclaim, the blast of the fire extinguisher sounding over Theo’s laughter as the maniac vampire cackled. Sloane leaned into me gently, her hand finding mine easily.
“Should we go save her? Or him?” She laughed and I smiled.
“I think those two are evenly matched.” Nikolas stated as he wandered through Theo’s sitting room, perching on the piano as he tested a few keys.
“Hmmm” he c****d his head, “needs tuning.” He began to play slowly, amidst Nikki and Theo arguing as the sounds of their voices floated in from the kitchen. Emily sidled into the room, two cups in her hand and passed one off to Sloane, who made a face.
“You need to keep your strength up” she said grinni
