Chapter 6

1493 Words
Days passed since the last time Emma and President Nathaniel Greyson were in each others presence alone. The past 3 days of the week, Emma had been purposely ignoring and avoiding him. Not because she didn’t want to see him but because she was so overwhelmed with questions about what he said last. “If she left Michael would he leave his wife Sarah?” “How would this affect his presidential career?” “How would this affect her political career?” “What would they tell the citizens?” “How would they keep this quiet from the media?” Emma’s thoughts were a whirlwind as she paced her office. The strategy session had ended hours ago, but the intensity of the President’s gaze and the tension simmering beneath the surface refused to leave her mind. She should have been preparing for the next day’s operations, but her focus kept drifting back to him—his words, his presence, and the way he looked at her. Finally, she made a decision. Gathering her notes, Emma left her office, her steps quick and purposeful as she made her way toward the Oval Office. The White House was almost eerily quiet at this hour, the usual hustle replaced by a stillness that only amplified the pounding of her heart. When she reached the door, she hesitated for just a moment, her hand hovering over the handle. This was a risk—she knew that. But something powerful was pulling her forward, something she couldn’t deny any longer. She knocked lightly. “Come in,” came the deep, commanding voice of President Nathaniel Greyson. Emma pushed the door open and stepped inside. Nathaniel was standing behind his desk, his posture rigid, the authority he commanded unmistakable. His eyes locked onto hers the moment she entered, dark and intense. “Emma,” he said, his tone firm, leaving no room for hesitation. “I was beginning to wonder if you’d show up.” She closed the door behind her, the sound of the latch clicking into place making her pulse quicken. “I thought we should discuss the next steps… in person,” she replied, her voice steady, though inside she was anything but calm. Nathaniel didn’t move from his spot. He simply watched her, his gaze sweeping over her like a predator sizing up its prey. “You know that’s not the real reason you’re here,” he said, his voice low, carrying an edge of something that made Emma’s breath catch. Her instincts screamed at her to be cautious, to retreat, but there was another part of her—a darker, more daring side—that wanted to see how far this could go. “No, it’s not,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. That was all he needed. In two strides, Nathaniel closed the distance between them, his hand gripping her wrist with a firmness that brooked no argument. “You’ve been on my mind all night, Emma,” he growled, his breath hot against her ear. “I’m done pretending this isn’t exactly what we both want.” He didn’t wait for a response. With a swift motion, he pulled her against him, his lips crashing down on hers in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was demanding, insistent, and it set her entire body on fire. Emma moaned against his mouth, the intensity of his touch leaving her dizzy. Nathaniel’s hands were rough as they slid down her body, gripping her hips and pulling her even closer. He dominated the kiss, his tongue claiming hers with an authority that left no room for doubt—he was in control, and she was more than willing to let him take the lead. When he finally broke the kiss, Emma was left gasping for air, her body trembling with a desire she hadn’t known she was capable of feeling. Nathaniel’s eyes were dark with lust as he looked down at her, his hand still firmly gripping her waist. “Do you know how hard it’s been, keeping my hands off you?” he demanded, his voice rough. “Watching you walk around, acting so damn professional, when all I wanted was to have you right where you are now?” Emma’s breath hitched at his words, the raw hunger in his voice sending a thrill through her. “Nathaniel…” she started, but he cut her off. “Enough talking,” he commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument. “I’ve waited long enough.” Without warning, he lifted her off the ground, her body instinctively wrapping around him as he carried her to the desk. He set her down on the edge, his hands immediately going to her blouse, yanking it open with a force that sent buttons scattering across the room. Emma gasped, but before she could react, his mouth was on her neck, biting and kissing with an urgency that left her weak. Nathaniel’s hands were everywhere, possessive and demanding as they explored her body. He pushed her skirt up, his fingers trailing up her thigh with a slow, deliberate motion that made her squirm. “You’re mine tonight, Emma,” he growled against her skin, his voice a dark promise. “And I’m going to make sure you never forget it.” She could only moan in response, her mind a haze of sensation as he continued to touch her, his hands and lips leaving a trail of fire wherever they went. His dominance was intoxicating, the way he took control making her feel both vulnerable and empowered at the same time. With a swift motion, Nathaniel had her fully undressed, her clothes discarded carelessly on the floor. He stood back for just a moment, his eyes raking over her exposed body with an intensity that made her shiver. “Perfect,” he muttered, more to himself than to her, before his hands were on her again, pulling her closer, positioning her exactly how he wanted. Emma’s head fell back as he claimed her, his movements rough, demanding, and relentless. He didn’t just want her—he was taking her, and she was more than willing to be taken. Every thrust, every touch, pushed her closer to the edge, her body responding to his with a need she hadn’t known she possessed. Nathaniel’s grip tightened on her hips as he drove into her, his pace punishing, relentless. “Look at me, Emma,” he ordered, his voice a deep, authoritative growl. She opened her eyes, meeting his gaze. The intensity in his stare was almost too much to bear, but she couldn’t look away. His eyes bore into hers, dark and filled with something primal, something that left her breathless. “You’re mine,” he said, his voice low and dangerous, each word punctuated by a hard thrust that made her gasp. “Say it.” “I’m yours,” she breathed, her voice trembling with the force of the pleasure coursing through her. “Again,” he demanded, his grip on her tightening. “I’m yours,” she repeated, louder this time, her words coming out in a desperate moan. “That’s right,” Nathaniel growled, his pace increasing, driving them both to the brink. “And don’t you ever forget it.” The world around them faded away as they lost themselves in each other, the raw intensity of the moment consuming them both. Emma’s body arched against his, every nerve alight with the sensation of him inside her, commanding her, possessing her. When they finally reached their peak, it was explosive, shattering them both in a wave of blinding pleasure. Nathaniel’s name was a cry on her lips as she came, her body trembling uncontrollably in his arms. He followed a moment later, a guttural groan escaping his throat as he buried himself deep inside her, his grip on her never loosening. For a long moment, neither of them moved, their bodies entwined, their breathing heavy and ragged. Nathaniel’s hands were still on her, his touch now gentler, more tender as he held her close. When he finally pulled back, his eyes softened as they met hers, the dominance still there but tempered by something else—something almost affectionate. “Emma,” he said, his voice low and rough, “this isn’t over. Not by a long shot.” She nodded, too spent to speak, but the look in her eyes said everything she needed to say. She knew that tonight had changed everything—that they had crossed a line and there was no going back. But as she rested in Nathaniel’s arms, the future, with all its uncertainty, no longer seemed so daunting. For the first time in a long time, Emma felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be—by Nathaniel’s side, in his arms, ready to face whatever came next.
