THIRTEEN July… I squint up at the San Diego sun, fanning myself with my hand underneath the heat waves beaming down on me from a star far, far away. I’m sweating my makeup off, and I can feel my SPF 60 sunscreen dying a slow death on my exposed shoulders that have been rubbed raw from the straps of my backpack. The line to get into the hall for Leviathan’s panel snakes around the convention center and has my belly fluttering. These people. These are my people. We get it. I spy a whole gaggle of fangirls wearing all kinds of merch, some in cosplay, some not, all of them with huge smiles on their faces.
