406 Words
Days passed since Andres told his family about his decision. He would be leaving his hometown for a work in the city. Surely this would lead to a series of change in is family - things that had never happened before. Finally, the day for Andres to leave had come. He and his family were busy, preparing and organizing everything before Andres would leave. While organizing things, Ricardo, Tomasa, and Panfilo were thinking of Andres's decision. "I will surely miss Andres - his songs, jokes, and everything that makes us proud of him," Ricardo said. "We will surely share the same feelings. In only a short time, Andres will not be with us anymore. Only his memories will be left," Tomasa agreed, with tears rolling down her cheeks. "I do hope that Andres will be all right when he will stay in the city," Panfilo added. "I do hope that he will find a good job." "We do hope the same," Ricardo said. "You know that we always want the best for you." "Your dad is right. Every parent wants the best for his or her children," Tomasa seconded. The Supremos gave Andres a lot of goods to bring on his journey. Among these were much food and money that Andres would need to survive the long trip to the bustling city. He also gave him protective gears and suitable clothing to help him cope up with the changing weather in the ocean, and medicine for seasickness. Before leaving, Andres went to the town proper - for the last time. "I want to have a final glimpse of my hometown, since I do not know if I could ever return," he said to himself. At about noon, his family accompanied him to the port where Andres would ride a ship to the city. The family were all filled with tears as they drew closer to the spot where Andres would take her ride. "We will miss you, son," Tomasa said, holding back her tears. "I will miss you too," Andres answered. Finally, the ship that will travel to the city came to the port. The passengers came in, and Andres followed just before the ship would leave. "Goodbye, Andres," Panfilo said as the ship left. "Goodbye to all of you," Andres replied, still holding back his tears. The ship left after Andres said his final goodbye. After the ship left, the Supremos sadly left the port.
