He lifted his stilettos and tried to stamp her on the neck. Instantly the sound of screeching car tires startled them. Her heart pounded with the thought that another assassin had arrived. Andrew’s heart pounded to think it could be Marson’s men sent to finish him off. Instantly they heard gunshot sounds as bullets riddled windows of the house. It sounded like a machine gun. Andrew rolled and ducked waiting to hear the car’s engine outside the house before firing shots. He lifted his head and saw Evelina going out of the house. He aimed and fired a shot. He cursed as he heard the car skidding to a stop and reversing fast. He instantly got up and ran outside.
