"What took you so long?" Nico asked me when she saw me coming out of the bathroom. Her eyes kept looking at my clenched right hand, which was holding the pregnancy test I had just used.
I knew that she must have realized that something was wrong with me. Nico had been very close to me since middle school. I felt that there was nothing to hide from her. I calmly opened my hand and let her see the two eye-catching red bars.
