Chapter 11

Ken's pov

Its been days but there wasn't even a single message from Vanessa. It was stressing me out. I really needed a distraction to take my mind off Vanessa, V.R, the mission, everything. I needed to breathe n just move Into an open space to air my self out.

I sat on the black leather chair behind my desk and rested on It swinging side to side slowly.

Few minutes later, I heard a sound. A beep. Vanessa... It was Vanessa. She wanted to speak to me. I picked it up.

"Ken, I need to tell you something I think you should know about" she was speaking hurridly I'm sure she just didn't want to be at the risk of getting caught.

"Go on" I urged her.

"So I kinda got lost In the mansion while taking a walk the day I got here"

"I walked Into this room and saw a statue" she then breathe In and Out.

"It was V.R's secret study".

"The statue was a lady's".

" It was April's".

"When he saw me In there, he got really furious and sent me out of the room warning me to never go In there again"

There was total silence on the other end and then It just got disconnected.

Was If she was caught. I was ready to go In there and save her but then... If she was, It meant that she left a clue behind and If she did Valentino would have already done something about lt.

None of the men I placed around the V.R mansion had called to say If something was off so I thought to myself that She's definitely fine.

Vanessa had worked It out. So, I had to wait a little bit longer...

After about 18 to 25 minutes, I heard the Beep again so I picked up.

There was silence and that Instance I knew that something was just not right. Vanessa usually doesn't delay In relaying her messages especially when she had a high risk of getting caught In the masion.

More seconds went by again without a single word from the other end.

"What If Valentino saw the device?" knowing him, he'd never do anything rashly. Like letting me know that he caught my spy. I had to do something...

Just anything Good enough... That's It

"If he really got a hold on this device and Is waiting for me to speak up right now, I'll have to call In other to leave no room for suspicion on Vanessa" I thought to myself.

"I could just call the name of someone In his family who Is selfish enough to try and betray him"

"That's It! Kimberly" and then I spoke.

"Kimberly..." I called out from my end but without an answer, the line was cut from the other end.

"I guess It worked"

"She's saved then" I exhaled loudly and could finally feel myself relax.

V.R's pov

My hand was Inches away from her neck. I knew that If I was to grasp It, I wouldn't let It go till I hear the sound of It snap that'll ease my anger so I just walked away.

She's family afterall...
