-Isabella- After taking a few wrong turns because I couldn’t keep pace with Garrett’s slow tempo, I finally stood in front of Damian’s room. Garrett wore a strange smile as he opened Damian’s bedroom door and led me inside. I almost jumped past him, desperate to see how badly Damian was hurt. “Here he is,” Garrett said as I stepped inside. Damian lay on his bed, his arm secured in a sling against his body. Small beads of sweat dotted his forehead, and he looked as tired and dirty as Garrett. His color was a bit too pale, but aside from that, he didn’t seem too bad. Still, appearances could be deceiving. “You’re not dying, right? He’s not dying, is he?” I asked, turning from Damian to Garrett, not giving either of them a chance to answer.
