Sunday passed in a strange, golden haze of bliss. I didn't leave the apartment once, and for the first time in my life, I didn’t feel the itch to check my work email or organize my closet. I spent the entire day on the floor or the sofa, buried under a mountain of blankets and two very large, very warm companions. They were fully at home now. We had every meal together, I even caught myself setting the table for three. I didn't make them eat off the floor like strays, instead, I used two large flat plates, serving them portions of steak that probably cost more than my weekly grocery budget.
