Cynthia's POV:
By the time I got to the hospital, Tania was pacing anxiously outside the emergency room. Upon seeing me, she screamed, "Why did you take so long? Get in there, quick! Your mom's not gonna make it!"
My heart sank instantly. My legs seemed to have nailed me to the ground, and I couldn't even take a step.
Tania guided me to sit on a bench, continuously comforting me.
However, my focus was solely on the "In Surgery" sign glowing above the OR doors.
The red light was so piercing, as if it could burn my eyes any second.
Yet, I didn't dare to look away.
After what seemed like an eternity, the doors swung open, and the doctor approached me, saying, "I'm sorry, we did everything we could."
At that moment, my mind went blank, and I felt all strength leave my body as I collaps
