My Darling Knight: Chapter 2.i "My different World"

I wanted to go out for some fresh air, but my knees were starting to feel weak. So I told Agnes to just go back to my room. She helped me to the room. And she said she was going to the kitchen because she was going to bring me some food.

I'm really confused and can't believe what's happening. First of all, I had an accident and was hit by a car, I saw mom in a dream, then when I woke up I was in another world that I didn't recognize, the girl in the portrait looked like me and worst of all, engaged to a Duke? Why does my life seem to be getting more complicated?

Amelie (V.O)

“Mom, what is happening?”

“Am I being reincarnated to this Amelia who just look like me?”

“What will happen to me now?”

“Where is the real Amelia?”

“Can I pretend to be Amelia to save my life?”

“What should I do?”

I was busy thinking about what I should do. And suddenly the door to my room opened. And a burly man who looked like a nobleman came in, and stood right in front of me.

“Lady Amelia, I heard that you wake up already,”

Suddenly he hugged me and kissed me on the head.

"Are you feeling better? I tried to get home right away so I could see if you were okay."

I hadn't yet recovered from my daze when the door opened and Agnes came in with food. She immediately bowed when she saw the man next to me.

Agnes

"I didn’t know that you are here, Master Anthoine. I brought food for Lady Amelia."

Master Anthoine

“Oh Yeah. Sure. I will get out first because I know you don't want anyone around you while you're eating. I'll be back later Lady Amelia.”

I didn't say anything, but I still couldn't really understand anything, it feels like I’m walking alone in a dark place, groping in the dark.

Agnes placed the food on the table in front of me and she ask for my permission if she could be out and give me peace while I’m eating.

Amelie

"Agnes, Can you stay here and eat with me?”

Right now, Agnes is the only one I can lean on because she's the one I've spent some time with among these people and she seems kind.

Agnes

“B-but Lady Amelia, you really don't like having people around you when you're eating.”

Huh? What I really long for is to have someone to eat with me at the dinner table because ever since my mom died, I've always been the one to eat alone. Sometimes I even hide on the rooftop of the office building just to avoid the people in the office.

Amelie

"It's okay with me, Agnes, eat with me because I also want to ask you with something."

Agnes was hesitant, but she insisted on sitting in front of me, I guess she didn't want to disobey everything I said.

Amelie

"Agnes, who was that man in the room just now?"

Agnes

“Don’t you remember?”

Wait, what should I answer to her so that she won't be suspicious of me?

Amelie

"a….ah because you said I fell off the carriage?

Maybe my head was pounding so hard that I can't remember a single thing,"

Believe me please….

Agnes

"Is that so? Alright my Lady, I will help you in any possible way."

I just looked at him and waited for his answer.

Agnes

"Lord Anthione is your older brother. The woman here earlier with the Physician is your mother, Marchioness Ellyn, and your father is Marchion Alexander of Astria."

Amelie

“Can you tell me what happened before the carriage accident?”

Agnes

"Lady Amelia, you and your father argued because you insisted on going to the Duke's palace. From what I hear from my fellow maidens here in your palace, your father does not want you to marry the Duke of Velmora but you are the one who wants this engagement."

Huh? Is this Lady AMELIA stubborn? She's the only one I've met who insisted to be in an arranged marriage.

Amelie

"What was my behavior Agnes before the accident?”

Agnes suddenly coughed because I asked her a question, so I handed her the juice that was in front of me. She didn't want to accept it but I forced her to. And we were able to talk for a while and I found out that Lady AMELIA of Astaria is a stubborn, spoiled brat and has a bad attitude so Agnes is not comfortable next to me.

Lady Amelia is no different from those who have done nothing but make my life miserable. I also felt sorry for Agnes, I can't imagine how many times Lady Amelia has yelled at her and insulted her.

It's sad to think that with so many people, my second life would be with someone who doesn't have a heart. I don't want to be like her and I don't want people around me to think that I have a bad attitude like Lady Amelia even if I just pretended to be Lady Amelia. I want to change everything in this new life. I don't want to be the Amelie in this life also, I don't want to be an easy target to people and to be Lady Amelia too, I don't want to be the heartless, rude, sharp tongue lady. I am reborn and I will use this life to change my entire life.

And I just hope that Agnes isn't suspicious of me the way ask her regarding this matter. I don't know where my life will take me as an impostor of Lady Amelia.

And where is the real Amelia? Did our souls swap in an instant because we're both faced a nearly death situation?

But right now, I need to survive in this different world where I am now. I need to think what plan I am going to do, just in case they learn that I am not the real Lady Amelia. In my situation where this family looks very noble, my head is in a serious problem.

But for now, while thinking what to do next. I guess I don't have a choice but to go with the flow.

I was lying on the bed when I heard that the door opened. And somehow, Master Anthoine, Marchioness Ellyn are coming straight towards me. And also a middle-aged man who wears a very elegant vintage clothing that really suits him. He looks very intimidating but I must say his expression when he saw changed and it becomes soft and full of worry.

"How are you Darling?"

His voice is carrying a blend of strength and warmth. I am looking at him and he touch my head and it was so comforting. I wanted to cry because all my life I never experienced of a fathers love.

Master Anthoine

"Are you still mad because father didn't approved your long awaited engagement?"

Marchioness Ellyn

"Shh! What are you doing young master? Don't you see that your sister is having a blunt trauma because of the accident?"

Master Anthoine (laughing)

"I am just kidding mother."

They look like a happy and perfect family. So I don't understand why this Lady Amelia has this rude attitude towards other.

Marchion Alexander

"Anyway, you don't have to worry now. I just came back from the Velmora. I talked to the Duke that I want you to get married to them just like you always wanted."

But how could I marry that Duke when I am not the real Amelia?
