Ethan's POV
I was drinking in silence by the counter when the girl from earlier came and sat beside me...
She crossed her toned leg over the other dangling her high heels...
I watched as she downed seven shots of tequila she ordered... Getting on the eighth one I intervened
"That's enough!" I told the bartender who just nodded...
"I'm the one paying right??? So I'll drink as much as I want" She yelled and pulled her hand from my grip...
"If you drink this much, how are you going to get home?" I asked softly
"That's my problem... Go away!" She snapped
I lifted my hands in surrender and continued to mind my business... She downed three more tequila shots before she begun sobbing again.
I don't know why but I kinda felt her pain.... I also came to this lousy to drink my sadness away... I'm a son and a brother and the most heartbreaking thing is to see your mother or sister getting wasted in a lousy bar...
"Are you okay???" I turned her to face me
She nodded and wiped the tears streaming down her eyes hastily...
"Do you need a hug?" I offered
"Why are you doing this?" She sobbed
" Because I have a sister and you seem her age... I'd never allow her to get wasted in a bar or crying like you"
She wasn't dazzling, intoxicating or breathtaking... She was just simple...
"I'm okay, I can take care of myself"
Who was she fooling??? Her emotions were not easily hidden on her innocent face
"Do you need a hug?" I opened my arms to her... First she was hesitant but after a while she curled up to me and I held her so close...
A hug was indeed what she needed...
"Damn you Matt, I gave you my all and now I'm clingy and too available..." She scoffed in between a choked sob
She was petite and I was afraid she might suffocate between my arms...
"Don't cry" I pulled back and gave her a handkerchief
"Okay thanks so now can I drink more??" She hiccuped
"Yes but one only... Where's your phone?" I asked and she pointed to her bag, thinking maybe I could try calling one of her friends but unfortunately it has run out of battery
"How do I get you home?? Your phone is dead and it's past midnight already"
"Aw! You're such an angel... Is that why you're wearing a cap and glasses???" She moved closer... It was obvious the alcohol was taking a toll on her
"Can I kiss you, Mister?"
"What???"
Before I could react... She locked her lips with mine taking me unaware but I quickly pulled away so it look as if I was taking advantage of her while at the same time I enjoyed it
"I'm sorry" She drew back and rested on her seat...
"Is this your first time drinking???" I asked trying to change the intensed atmosphere...
"Maybe" She shrugged "I like you Mister" She added making me froze
"You don't even know my name missy..."
"You don't know mine either" She replied
"Are you not afraid that I might be a murderer, r****t or even in cult???"
She chuckled and rested her head on my shoulder "You are so funny.." She laughed
"Well, that wasn't funny" I muttered to myself
"Say what?"
"Nothing... Why don't we get you home" I suggested but she ignored me trying to take another shot
"Didn't you hear what I said???" I took the glass from her and gave it to the bartender
"No... I want to drink till my body can't take anymore!" She yelled
"How then will you get home?"
"I will walk..."
"Really??" I scoffed
I don't know why I'm so concerned about a girl who clearly isn't concerned about herself
"See??? I can" She stood up and staggered to the middle of the pub... Swaying her hips to the music being played thereby earning some cheers and applaud from the crowd while some stared at her lustfully...
"What the heck is this crazy girl doing now???" I walked through the crowd, took her hand and dragged her out of the bar
"Thank you for tonight my angel" She hugged me and turned around
"Where are you going?" I asked when she began staggering away...
She didn't respond but continued walking... She'd only took a few steps before she fell...
"Are you okay???" I ran to her
"Ouch.... I twisted my ankle..." She pointed like a baby
"Where do you live?? so I can take you there..."
"Hous..." She mumbled and then passed out...
Oh sweet Lord!... Why did I have to come across someone like her?
Looks like I have no choice but to take her home...
I carried her delicately and walked to my car which was parked few buildings away from the bar...
